Playing SF4 only. I’ve tried all current games BBCSII, KOF13, SF3TSOE, MvC2OE, SF2HDR etc. I dont like them as I like SF4. Then Skullgirls came out, a fighting game made by fighters for fighters. Us was promised a qualitative fighting game with lots of depth, mechanics and a hard learning curve. But what did we got, the game is slow as fuck, there is no hard execution, all contains of chaincancelcombos and double qcf motions, leading into 60s combos. Hell no thx. I rather play SF4 with mainly 4-5 hit combos with require tough links where I can actually play and not put the joystick aside and watch the combos. What I hate about SF4 is the hard knockdown based mixup shit, I really wait for another game which has it I like, but its not here yet.
A view things I like about skullgirls is the fact that the team size is variable, I can directly start playing wiht one character and arent force to learn three at once like in KOF (-> shit). I personally like the atmosphere and characterdesign, it has this kind of end time atmosphere. What I dont like are all the noises, all the squaking and screaming in high female voices, thats one of the reasons I dont play blazblue lol.
But I will give the game another chance when the patch for the xbox comes out, but I feel I will still not like it cause the combos are still too long, I dont want to learn combos in training mode like a retard roboter, its senseless, I hate all the combo videos on the mainpage, fuck long combos. I want to play a game directly, without spending too much time in training mode on combos!!! It should be possible to win a game out of better positioning, better spacing, punishing and judgement, not jus tbecause I am a roboter and can pull out a 60s combo, shit.
That we are in agreement. I think it’s doubly sad considering how it undermines their other artistic decision to create a female centric caste and give them characterizations and arcs that make them personable which is by itself offputing to various societies in general, forget about the FGC.
There is a cultural movement to have femininity viewed as normal and Skullgirls is clearly trying to do that in its own way. But I already know women who would hate on SKullgirls just for the imagery even though the substance of the game is far deeper than anything their gender has been offered in gaming.
Well there is potential good news on that front. Mike clearly made IPS to address infinites but long as combos do bother him. He is working on mechanic called undizzy to make it very challenging to do excessively long combos that.
Because you can win at skullgirls just by landing one hit.

You say you would rather play sf4 with 4-5 tough link combos (which is subjective, I guess, because most of the shit in sf4 is easy, sure there are a one frame links here and there, but most combos are relatively no problem.) but then you don’t like training mode? So how’d you learn the combo?
Then you say you don’t like the oki game of SF4, which is fine, then you talk about training mode, but last time I checked, no one could win shit in SF4 without training mode.
The game has become a game of setups, and I don’t hear of too many people just picking up their unblockables and safe jumps and OS’es mid match.
How are 3s,mvc2, and sf2(i guess hdr is “current”) current games?
You want a game with short, fast, kind of hard damaging combos and return back to neutral, play vsav.
Lol and the problem with you skullgirls promoters lies within this post. Why is he not allowed to like sf4? why is he automatically wrong? Some people can’t accurately explain why they like a game, they just sorta do. Let them like it. Stop telling them they are wrong for it.
And Vsav as so much bullshit in neutral i don’t think any street fighter player would be bothered to play it.
My theory (or what I seem to come across as the reason most of the time) is that people are simply turned off by Skullgirl’s aesthetics. Which, I guess I can understand. It’s not for everyone. But the problem is that I see a lot of MvC players use that mode of thinking when they haven’t even tried the game yet. I mean, I despise the disgusting heavy contrast/half-assed cel shaded style that MvC3 has, but I at least gave it a good run before I formed my opinion on it.
I like the sound track too Skull Girls… Unlike CrossxTimeover… For some reason i rather play DOA… You can’t Fap to Skull Girls…!!!
Seriously Skull Girls is a good game… Play it, but you cant expect “Old schools players” to play in $20,000 SG money matches… give the game more time… its still a baby.
