Why are like and agree/disagree mutually exclusive?

I get having agree/disagree being mutually exclusive, but why is like mutually exclusive with agree/disagree?

As [I’ve explained](A guide to interpreting the slew of new feedback options on posts the concepts are not mutually exclusive. I can like something and agree with it at the same time, and I may even like something, but disagree with it.

However, liking something and agreeing with something are two completely separate things. So why are the actions implying a relationship that there’s not?

I agree. Liked.

On a serious note, I really suggest removing agree/disagree (I never seen such a feature on any other forum I used). Considering the maturity level of typical idiots, trolls and all the kiddies on large forums like this, disagree is just going to be flame bait. God forbbid someone disagrees with your opinion on an internet forum.

Probably a Vanilla thing.

I’d rather not have a disagree option. If you disagree with me then you should explain to me why that is.<br><br>I am still puzzled why they switched to this layout, I thought the old one was completely fine.<br>

They thought it would be better than Xenforo. In one way it is. In others, it’s vastly inferior.<div><br></div><div>Compare the two:</div><div>Xenforo: Whatever we wanted to work, worked. Slow as hell and dragged the site down on the garbage servers it was on.</div><div>Vanilla: Faster than hell. A good majority of the features don’t work correctly or at all.</div>
