Yeah THEORY FIGHTER! Cool! No contradictions here!
Let me ask you this let me ask you this: How many times have players of EQUAL skill fought each other?

its shocking how hard it is for people to understand that.
You could say that for any tier list. Shit, Poongko makes Seth look top tier.
yep.
that’s the point.
Twelve is great.
I fully understand the difficulty in finding two players of exact equal skill (I doubt it’s even possible to be honest), but regardless, I honestly believe Sean, as a character, is better.
Yeah that’s acceptable. I don’t think anyone is swayed by things so easily. What LI Joke said though is the honest truth and it’s why tiers and matchup charts are horse shit. They assume equal skill. Ok but that doesn’t exist. In a debate that would be game over man, but on the interwebs it’s A-OK.
That’s why I say chun is stronger than most, sean is weaker than most. That’s all. More than that doesn’t matter much.
As someone who plays Sean, that guy has it hard. Even with his ok shoto normals, that guy still has to put himself at risk to get in to use those passable shoto normals. Outside of cr.forward and maybe far st.strong, what is sean going to do to get his way in? Everything the poor guy does is a risk.
compared to 12? At least he gets damage even if it’s off gimmicks. Even solid play from Sean isn’t great play if it doesn’t work. Sean’s only real gimmick is off his basketball and even that’s not scary. It’s a ghetto Dudley mixup.
I believe Sean is a better character than Twelve. I like them both, but Sean at the end of the day still has the shoto tools he can use. He can still tick throw, karathrow, Shoto hitconfirms to super, some decent normals, and overall good supers. He also has some mind games with his basketball setups, he has a command dash/special that can be used in mindgames, he also has a roll to escape sticky situations and can take a punch better.
Twelve on the other hand, has a few good normals, but most are punishable parry bait. A good character with anti-air will give him hell, his defense is terrible, he has few hitconfirms and overall he is a character that requires a ton of uphill work to win against even a somewhat competent opponent. He does benefit from his randomness and the fact that most people don’t know the match-up.
Consider this there is a a player in So Cal if I remember right who mains Sean and wins tourneys if that is the case despite bad match ups then player skill counts for everything, Im sure there are likewise good twelve players as well. (Never personally met one)
Personally I only use twelve to enrage players because he is considered bad so no one touches him and so I walk in with him on all fours and have my fun and then fly away when Im done.
You aren’t remembering correctly cause I’ve never seen a Sean player win any tourneys in socal. You hearts in the right place but that statement is not true.
To be honest, I’ve never heard a Sean placing Top 8 in any tourneys in Socal either. I know at least Shogo and/or Valle’s placed with Twelve before.
;_;
Maybe Im thinking of another state or maybe it was NorCAal. but I remember that there is a Sean user who has. I need to scour the net now… I remeber there is a top Sean player, Which now it just looks like Im trying to justify Sean (I dont care for Sean) God memory is failing me. I think it was rather recent as well.
Maybe you’re thinking of bodler?
He’s probably thinking of Chris G, who won a tourn not too long ago with Sean in the GF. I think this was in New York? I forget, somewhere around there.
I think Twelve is a considerably better character than Sean. I think it’s preferable to have an original yet under powered character over a shit version of existing characters. Sean Supers are really quite good but all his specials are garbage and his normals are pretty bad too. Twelves normals are suprisingly good. While his wake up game is bad I think he deosn’t really need it as he’s so hard to pin down or corner.
Yes thankyou that was it. God that was bothering me.
At NEC XI winners’, losers’, and grand finals all had Sean mirrors. Top 3 were Justin Wong, Chris G, and Flare (in that order).
I have’nt spent much time with Twelve, mainly because I didn’t find much going for him. I’ve always found Sean to be somewhat decent. But I have no idea what Twelve’s potential can be.
