Why is Daigo listed for SF2? MAO is top of the game for SF2 and has been winning like crazy, so much so that the ST scene wants to (jokingly) ban MAO. Daigo hasn’t been winning SF2 for a long time now. Besides MAO, you also have OTO-Chun, who also has a high winning record.
no other player has been so dominant in their game for so long
no other player beats top players convincingly with any character he decides to pick that day
my Kuroda who arth in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, and you made Justin look like a fucking dope

Only other argument you could make is for Justin because of winning SO many Mahvel 2 tournaments. Primary argument against Justin is that Mahvel 2 wasn’t even remotely an international game, nobody played it as hard as the US did. But this is basically a three horse race between Kuroda, Justin’s tourney streak, and Daigo’s name recognition.
Daigo wasn’t completely dominant in Japan in either SF game for any considerable stretch of time, he was just the first to come over here and crush everything.
