I am sorry but I had to lol. I also played Cammy.
I’ve got an issue with the DLC petition topic, and it’s about the no historical figure thing.
Why? I think that’s pretty unfair. I happen to enjoy Capcom’s samurai characters, and crossing out historical figures pretty much leaves us with nothing. You’re basically telling us we can’t vote for Sengoku Basara or Onimusha characters, which are Capcom series…and for those who say “You can vote for Soki”, you basically can’t because Soki’s real name is Hideyasu Yuki.
I hope the topic creator can think this over.
Honestly I agree. If Capcom wants to throw out the historical figures let them do it after you submit the info. They haven’t come out and said they won’t do it (right?) so let people vote that way if they want. It is however inadvisable to vote this way.
There has been loose talk about a possible MvC4 or Marvel Super Heroes 2 if this game does well. Some characters have to be saved for these games. I think that is why so many characters that we think of as no brainers are missing. If every big character or fan favorite was in MvC3, who would get excited over a sequel? Maybe in MvC4 we’ll see Chris in the background and The Punisher as a playable character. Or maybe we’ll see Dr. Strange finally?
- dlc characters
- yearly sequels.
They’re allowed to pick one and only one.
Although named after historical figures that doesn’t mean they are actually based on them.
I mean I am VERY SURE Date Masamune didn’t speak and yell in Engrish telling his swordsman to put their guns on(!) or getting ready for a party. I am also sure he didn’t weild 3 swords in each hands, and his horse wasn’t a motorbike (sorry guys we gotta face the truth).
Granted some story elemnts in the games may reference and/or use actual events that happened in real life (like Hideyaki betraying Yoshitsugu), but most other stuff are fictious.
If using the name is a problem then here are some solutions- use one part of their name for the game, eg. Date or Masamune, or they could use a title or nickname associated to that character like Azure Dragon for Date or Demon King for Oda Nobunaga.
This… doesn’t make any sense. How do you “save” certain characters for sequels? It’s not like Capcom is already developing MvC4 and getting it ready for next year.
Well, it depends on the situation. From Niitsuma’s comments about TvC, I got the impression that they didn’t use Dante in UAS so that they could save him for MvC3.
So when did deconfimation actually replace disconfirmation? I’m not even talking about people who’s native language may not even be English either. The word is everywhere now.
Capcom used it on their Facebook page, and then I think it just took off from there.
I’m pretty sure he straight up said just that. I know he said that there were characters who were left out of tvc specifically because they were being saved for mvc3.
Yeah, Nero and Leon were some of the characters they wanted to use, but were specifically told by higher ups to leave out Resident Evil and Devil May Cry, and we get shitloads of those characters in MvC 3.
Man, I wish. No Lady makes me sad
Words are whatever people say. It’s not like some insistution or some non-human force creates language.
We all know damn well we’ll be paying for an “Amazing Marvel vs. Capcom 3” in 2012 after we bought all the DLC.
Therefore we ought not to teach people to speak properly? Does not follow.
I guess we can take this off the deconfirmed list?
The very assumption of “proper” english stems from class based prejudices. There is no such thing.
Meh, it’s still an ambiguous disconfirmation of Ken, Dan etc.
Hey guys, semi-new here. Has there been an absolute de-confirmation for Carnage? I’m just really hoping for him as DLC.
No, but don’t get your hopes up.
