Not a bad idea. Get either A2 or A3 online and it will probably get a lot of play. Might kill HF online though.

Okay, say SSFT2HD is success and Capcom decides to do an Alpha game in HD. Nobody will be able to agree on which game it should be, be it A2, A3, A3Upper Or A3Max. I’d say NONE of them.
I’d rather see Capcom reapproach Hyper SFZ and re-do it, with changes. Obviously, get rid of the AutoBlocks and the other obvious problems, balance things up and then completely drop the “Hyper” moniker in favor of Super Street Fighter Zero MAX or something else.
Disassociate it with the “Hyper” motif and treat it as a completely different game, just so all the bitches with their “Well, that kick doesn’t hit the same, fuck this game!” attitude can just shut the fuck up and play what new things the game offers, which unfortunately didn’t happen with Hyper SFZ as it is. I ain’t saying HSFZ isn’t busted in a lot of ways that could have easily been fixed, but when did Capcom ever get anything right on the first try?

The things within HSFZ that players would gravitate towards to secure an easier win, IE, Watson using Ken Alpha 1 with Autoblock(not that he needed to, get the idea?). The CE Ism just does too much damage, like that, little things. On the whole I thought each variation between A1-A2-A3-new Ism complemented eachother fairly well, having full meter charges at start made A2/A3 vs. A1 fairly even in terms of what you can do.
My nitpicks about HSFZ are minor, I’m just pointing out things that people would use in online play for that extra advantage, things I could see casual(and or new to series) players freaking out about.
Woulda been nice if they had thrown all the Alpha backgrounds and given HSFZ a bit a boost in presentation(formal ISM selections on the new ones, etc.) Believe me Showdown, I’m on your side with HSFZ, and lots of problems people level at the game are unjustified and completely untrue.
I’m no Street Fighter guru, but I don’t see it being any more broken than some of the other 2D fighters made by Capcom.
Dont forget that me and watson never even got to finsih our finals at EVO for the game. Im not saying I would have beaten him or anything but autoblock isnt some free win thing. Sure its retarded, but is it bad enough to ban? Im not so sure…
As for CE, CE isnt even a valid point cuz I would hope everyone realizes its broken, so it shouldnt even be up for a discusion.
The only legitment complaint anyone shoudl have that ive seen is that for some reason, cody can be juggled for no reason after a lot of shit. And even then certain things he is invincable to for no reason where as other characters can still be juggled. Hes basicly his own shit cody groove. But other then that the game is fine.

I brought up the CE Ism just in case people haven’t read the stuff posted in AA threads by you and others(I did, took me all day). But it does remain THE broken aspect they would need to address if they did do a port somtime in the future.
I agree with this post massively. Also, just imagine being able to take any character from any alpha game into world tour mode, and customizing them. and then even further with colour edit. I’d love it
