I dunno cuz, Freddy just doesnt feel right to me. Its too far of a stretch for me. So the next DLC they can put in Satan cuz he’s feom Hell? Or maybe Zeus to counterbalance all the evil characters? Some shit just doesnt fit. They are tryna put the circle block in the oval space… Feel me?
Dante will be in UMK9 as well as issac from dead space, and Ryu hayabusa. Fun ideas, but they just dont fit. Does this mean im goin to stop playin mk9? Not at all, I just want to see the community flourish and I think freddy will be more of a side step than a step forward in the right direction
I hardly think that a DLC character will drive people away from the game… people are overreacting a touch.
Just do what I’m doing. Don’t buy it. If a lot of people don’t bother with this, NRS will give us better DLC in the future.
I hope I am overreacting… I was excited for this dlc, but im disappointed now.

You are also grasping at straws by comparing this addition to a hypothetical addition of a Ryu Hayabusa, Dante, Satan (lol), and Issac. Besides, even if they were in, who cares? If they can make it work, more power to them. At least those choices make more sense than your attempt at comparing Freddy to Austin Powers and Vegeta.
Also, this won’t do a thing for the game’s community aside from bringing over some horror fans. That’s it. The game won’t be taken less seriously, and if it is taken less seriously, it won’t be because of Freddy. It does bring an interesting question to the table, however, as in what constitutes seriousness in a fighting game outside of mechanics. I always thought that crazy unorthodox characters were the draw, not realism and coherence, otherwise this community would be way more into Fight Night and UFC games.

It wasnt really pullin at straws… Ryu is a ninja, he’d fit in you’d think, issac might have peen a leap but shit, wat about the guy froom Doom? Hes in hell. But those werent serious examples… U get it. I dont have a problem with wacky or unorthodox characters. Guilty gear by far was the game to get me seriously into this genre. So wacky is fine. But man, I dont like the idea of freddy. Introducing characters into another universe works alot of times, mvc, cvsnk hell even super smash bros., but its a stretch. Lol maybe I just dont get it…

See, that is the thing right there; It has nothing to do with public perception nor whether the character fits. You just don’t like the idea of Freddy being in. It’s that simple. And no, I’m not making this a bad thing, I’m just pointing out the most honest and sensible thing you have said on this subject. I’m willing to concede that point. Every other argument…not so much.

See, I’m not sure if you are aware but this is what we call a strawman fallacy. The fact (See? Facts!) is that none of these characters are in, only Freddy is. In your attempts to make a point (whatever it may be), you are namedropping like crazy instead of even putting forth a reasonable argument as to why Freddy is a bad idea. It’s like complaining about a car model for its color and not its features, with your only argument being other colors you dislike. Lets discuss Freddy in the context of the game rather than make dumb as shit statements such as the one I highlighted.
Besides, I think I made myself painfully clear that if X character shows up and NRS makes it work, more power to them. Its not an admission of any approval on my part. I will admit that I like the idea of Freddy being in, though I do not like the Jackie Earle Haley Freddy. I was also willing to concede that you just don’t like Freddy in MK. That is it.
I think it depends on how well the first season’s DLC sells. I know that the rumor mill was on the ball with Freddy, so they must be right about Jason showing up.
Yea I dont like freddy in Mk. So essentially we have to wait until freddy is in to determine whether or not he works in this game?
Of course he works, that’s why he is playable. Now its just a matter of determining if you like him enough as a character and a fighter to spend 5 bucks.

MK9 Freddy’s design is still closer to Haley Freddy than Englund Freddy, Tim. I miss his pointy nose. 
His design is closer, but its based off the fact that burn victims (especially in a case as bad as ol’ crater face) generally have no nose due the the cartilage being burnt. Its just a general depiction in my opinion. However a cynic would say that its because WB want to bring out more films with Haley’s Freddy in mind, to keep consistency between the game and the film(s).
I hope not. Haley lacks Englund’s wit and presence.
Couldn’t agree more, but I like to think on the positive side. Mortal Kombat love to make appearances as gruesome as possible (Meat, Unmasked Kabal, etc.)
Hell I think Kabal is a perfect example, since he had no nose either I think. Must be a common trait in design which is why they must have done it. Nevertheless, this is a nose were talking about. The trademark sweater and fedora from classic Freddy are still there, despite his signature look being toned down in the film. So with that in mind, it could be NRS’ own interpretation of the character. As for his audio, I’m prepared to wait until more info is shown. All I hear is laughing, I hope he would say at least one or two lines with the dark humour I’ve grown to expect from him.
