Who is the REAL hero for sf3? I know Alex was supposed to be the main charecter, but capcom changed it to ryu. But in the first game it was alex who beat gill, but at the same time, Ryu recieved a MAJOR power up from Oro in the endong of Third strike.
imo, i think alex was supposed to be the main character in the first sfIII, but if you read alot of plot guides, 2nd impact and 3rd strike stories are considered canon and overwrite the new generation.
i really think the story should stick to ryu, he was the main character in sfI and sfII and should still be the main character of sfIII. i would like to see alex in the comic, possibly the way cammy is represented, not quite the main character but given enough of the lime light
Alex is the main man from street fighter 3. Ryu and ken were not sopposed to be in the game but were put anyway. Just like chun li was not sopposed to be in third strike. They probbaly would stick to alex,s story and then ryu,s. I think udon is gonna give all the street fighter 3 characters are gonna be in the comic and all play a part of the story.
I think Alex is the main hero of SF3 (NG and 2nd Impact)
However, Chun Li is the main character in 3S. I strongly believe that, because of the intro, and the title. However, there is no certain proof; so I could be wrong.
Uhmm… Alex won the SF III tournament(Gill lets himself be beaten by Alex). Ryu lost to Oro. And Oro removed himself in the tournament after he has beaten Ryu.
Instead of bringing mel and the random girl in chun’s intro and the PIECE OF SHIT(!) designed characters like TWELVE and NECRO maybe crapcom could finally end the ryu/akuma conflics, tell us wtf happened w/ bison, rose, guy, charlie and cammy. Twelve and Necro are the crapiest designed characters i have seen since the first street fighter.
OH, and regardging sf3, i would say GILL is the HERO of 3s, since akuma and oro are the only ones who are anywhere near as good as him, and they are both doing their thing. Ryu is just trying to get better as usual, so he’d be a pretty boring ‘hero’ (though he would have been a good main character if A. he had some strong beef with Gill, like he did with bison, or B. if his akuma conflict was finally resolved.)
Alex is just a chump who Gill thinks has ‘potential’ but they totally fucked up by having ryu mop the floor with him. I mean, if the kid’s that bad of a fighter why the fuck isn’t gill more intersted in ryu? and also i would say the twins have a LOT more potential than alex’s bitchy ass… but that’s just me.
First off, Ryu is one of the strongest characters in the storyline. Only Gill, Oro, Akuma, and M.Bison surpass him. Anyone other than them (or Ken) is likely to be beaten senseless by default. Next, if you think of how Gill works, he’s probably interested in Alex for genetic reasons. All things considered, Capcom sorta dropped the ball on this. At the same time, Ryu’s been training since he was a child and he’s now in his mid thirties. Alex (if I’m right) has only been training in his teenage years and is just in his early twenties. Something to ponder.
Chun-Li is not the main character of Third Strike. Well, storyline wise anyways. As a way to sell the game, yeah, she’s the main character. Pretty much why she’s showcased in the intro too.
Yes, Chun-Li is pictured all over the place for Third Strike because putting Chun-Li in the game was a major selling point. It doesn’t make her the main character. That’s like saying Hugo is the main character of SF3 Second Impact: Giant Attack when he’s not - it’s Alex. Or like saying Donovan and Lei Lei are the main characters of Vampire Hunter when they are not - it’s still Demitri. Capcom will often name/advertise games with new characters, that doesn’t make them the star or main character of the game.
SF3 Third Strike is an epilogue game, it is the aftermath of the SF3 Tournament. It doesn’t really have a main character, everyone is running around doing their own thing, kind of like the SFZ series.
And Chun-Li would still be a poor choice if you were to pick a main character since she only interacts with Urien as far as we know. There is no evidence storyline wise she interacts with Alex like the intro indicates, not everything in intros actually happens. For example, in Giant Attack’s Intro, Alex is facing off against Hugo. We know that couldn’t of happened because Hugo would of kicked his Ass and Alex would of never won the SF3 Tourney. Hugo was able to stand after getting struck with Ryu’s Shin Shoryuken, a move that can kill a man. In Third Strike, Ryu beat Alex without breaking a sweat. There is a huge power difference between Alex and Hugo.
Like I said, there is no star in SF3 Third Strike but if you must pick one going by storyline, you have to go with Ryu. He is the one that interacts with the most people. He defeats Alex, defeats Ken and sort of meets Oro in Oro’s ending.
I don’t know about the Hugo kicking Alex ass thing. Yes Hugo can take more damage than Alex but that does not mean that Hugo can beat him. It’s like I’m sure if Sagat got hit with a full Shinshoryuken it wouls probably knock him out. But could Hugo beat Sagat …I think not.
As far as the Storyline Power Tiers stand (check TiamatRoar’s SF Online Plot Guide) Saiki, the main SF storyline person in the universe placed Hugo above Alex for the exact reason I mentioned. - once again, Hugo was able to stand after a Shin Shoryuken, Ryu beat Alex without breaking a sweat - Alex didn’t fight Hugo in the SF3 Tourney, Ryu did and defeated him. If Alex and Hugo ever fought, Hugo would win. Alex is credited with defeating a bunch of newbies in SF3 (didn’t fight Ryu, didn’t fight Oro, didn’t fight Ken, didn’t fight Gouki, didn’t fight Hugo) and everyone agrees Gill didn’t even fight him at full strength - the man Alex beat. In SF, just 'cuz you won the Tourney doesn’t mean you’re the strongest.
To make things clear, Ryu did not defeat Sagat with a Shin Shoryuken in SF1. He used a Satsui No Hadou charged Shoryuken. Not as pwerful as a Shin Shoryuken. The best in game equivalent is SNH Ryu’s Super Shoryuken. I forget if in the game it includes an elbow lunge, but if so, remove the elbow lunge to get a gist of what Sagat was struck with in SF1.
Speaking of Sgat and Ryu they are very close in power but Sagat has a slight edge over Ryu. This is because Sagat let go of his vengeance. Ryu for the most part got over SNH, at this point in story I think it would be stupid for him to give into it, but the possibility for him to give into SNH still exists. Sagat’s vengeance thing is a lot easier to get over than SNH, but you have to give Sagat a slight edge. The two have an eternal rivalry, I don’t think Capcom will ever settle it. Think Kyo vs. Iori, Kenshin vs. Saito, Goku vs. Vegeta, etc. Regardless of who’s stronger, none of these matches include clean wins over the other.
