ken can kick dudley’s ass …

“Perfectly-played” is a little strange in this case. Basically, playing against a powerful character forces remy to play the match a certain way if he wants to win. This means turtle. The strategy is to use either anticipated s.strong or the occasional multi-hit anti-airs to counter the fast jumps, and barrage with some high, but mostly low lovs from way accross the screen.

It’s true, if a remy turtles carefully the entire match long, it’s difficult for dudley to get in, and thus is probably going to lose. However, dudley just needs a couple parries to land the momentum-changeing combo or to inch close enough to start a poking match that he’s bound to win. If he’s waiting for it, he’ll duck under a high lov (a high EX lov will get ducked) and super just before remy recovers. Like I said, remy has to be very careful and turtle all match long to increase his chances of winning. Only if he’s feeling particularly gutsy will he attempt a super link, which could end up costing the round. A turtling remy has, while not overwhelming, a significant advantage over dudley, but what a fucking boring way to play.

in fact, this strategy seems to work well with most characters, and oddly remy doesn’t do half bad against ken because of his range and good kara throw. However, the fun with remy ends once people figure out your tricks and find ways to get around the few good moves he has.

yang VS dudley ?

one parry, roundhouse xx ex mgb is cya yang… i would hate an sa3 one i think… hmmmm

Yes, while seiei enbu is usually regarded as worse than SA2, dudley is pretty weak against it since his wide hitboxes, especially when crouching, allow yang to connect full combos more easily and deal more damaging strikes or finishers. He can also be command grabbed very easily when crouching or crossed up. c.forward gives dudley trouble, too.
