Alex, Q, and Urien need some lovin’ in terms of the SF3 side of things, I’m curious how some of the alpha characters would be with updates like Birdie, Sodom and Karin.
I really really really hope they do not abstain from adding characters from sfiii again on the basis of a phony appeal to the good 'ol sfii days. 3s fans kept the series alive for so long only to have Ono shit on them in so many ways. Now it’s gotten to the point where there is a nostalgia surrounding the sfiii scene and cast. It’s time to respect those who remained in the scene when everyone was playing WoW and Halo and shit.
Makoto would actually fit nicely with the new V-Trigger/stance mecanic, they could totally use her tanden renki super and make it her powered stance. The same could be done with Juri and her fengshui engine.
I do hope we’re getting a small roster, 8 to 12 character tops. Given how poorly SFIII was first received, I’d doubt new characters are to make up for a sensible chunk of the roster.
I’m willing to bet on Ken, Sagat, Guile, Dudley, possibly Makoto and/or Ibuki. Add to that the obligatorily new-face villain.
I really hope so.
Too many matchups suck, but most people here seem to enjoy it.
I dunno why you need 8 zoners, 8 grapplers, 8 people who can rushdown and a couple of jacks of all trades.
The original roster is so diverse in appearance, playstyle and movesets, that I really don’t know why it matters for so many people if your motion zoner is a beefy dude called Sagat, an old fuck called Gouken or a transvestite with a nice body called Poison.
I’d be fine if only one makes it.
I’m actually suggesting that cut X to make Y in is shit
SF3 spit on SF2 fans
SF4 spit on SF3 fans (until DLC)
Who say every new chapter must chose one side? SF4 with DLC already killed a little bit this trend
Lol fuck this shit
So like back in the time i’ve hated see SF2 cast killed to make space to SF3 cast, i was happy when SF3 cast had the chance to be in SF4… actually i was hoping to get Urien, Alex and Q too
What i’m saying is that SF2 cast don’t necessary need to be all-in, but another full revolution because “waaa now it’s sf3 turn!” will be bullshit
Want see all 12 back? No, some are replaceable, some straight killable
What i’m saying is that the iconic SF look is not only Ryu+Ken+Chun, i will like to see at least 4-5 more classics
A smart move from them may be heavy redesign some classic ones both in moveset and charadesign
And said that is easy already see some SF3 love in SFV, don’t be scared
Also we are speaking like SFV is going to have a small cast
Forget it
All the small cast is cool because better matchup balancements etc thing is naive, SFV is not going to have a small cast
Both 3D technology and today market (specially after USFV) will push for a cast of at least 20-25 chars from beginning to over 30/40ish after updates… a lot of place for everyone(SF2,SF3,SFA,NEW), no need go for a nonsense “preference”
Alex. I want to see what a hard hitting grappler might be capable of in this game. I could really care less about R. Mika’s goofy ass and Karin should just go away and stay away.
A mix of Alpha and 3s characters we haven’t seen in IV: Urien, Q, Remy, Birdie, R. Mika, Sodom, etc (doubt Karin will happen just because Capcom has no real incentive to jump through hoops)
Round out the roster with new characters. Done.
Though I am very intrigued by the thought of Gen with the V-trigger system; two modes (or more?) across two stances would make for a character with a lot of depth.
If the 16 characters rumor is true they will probably only choose 3 or 4 characters from each series.
SF2, Alpha, SF3 and SF4 would either have 3 characters represented, with 4 new characters added, or each series have 4 represented, and no new characters.
