Whip it, whip it good - The Poison GD Thread

LOL I need some “LOVE STORM” now!!!

Why am I thinking of Skullgirls when I see that gender bend?

Similar art style honestly. lol

I like how he still tucks in in very well.

Would’ve been funnier if Poison remained unchanged.

I wonder if its some sort of glitch that poison is missing her bangs.

Judging from this, the idiots doing the models simply forgot them and Ono’s playing it off as if she opted for hairstyle change.
Eventhough this person already got a response, I’m still going to ask him to add her bangs again.

Notes to add to Front page: Flip kick/Love me tender(lolz@ the name) isn’t projectile invincible, and her backflip is :b::3k:
. EX whip of love(4th hit) does a tekken(style) launcher, so its there to burn for an extended combo or more damage. however i dont know how scaling juggles work yet since i didnt get much play…

its been awhile since i’ve been on SRK so im kinda happy to see Poison has her own thread yo~ keep me posted…im out

Poison, she looks really solid in here! Esepically with this crazy backdash, she has some great potential! I can’t wait to try her out.

Her back dash isn’t as good as Julia’s back dash. Julia’s back dash is like makoto’s forward dash but faster and cover’s more distance!!!

Does backdash work the same way as Vega’s back flips? It’ll be awesome if it was

So far her backflip has at least full projectile invicibility throughout the entire move. Seems like it might normal inv as well, but that’s unconfirmed for now.

I hope it does go through normals considering all but one Tekken cast member thus far as a projectile. Still good to know. Thanks

Today I was playing Poison at PAX and I found her to be pretty all rounded. I didnt realize that love me tender actually had a follow up, since the command list on the machine didn’t say that it had (the command list was of the picture in the previous posts), I’ll have to try that tomorrow. I tried to use it to jump over fireballs but either it doesnt have the capability to do it or the timing is strict, I’ll try again tomorrow. Its been said in previous posts but her sweep has pretty good range, reminded me a bit of Rose’s sweep but just a bit shorter range.

I know this isnt that much information, I’ll be playing more tomorrow however I did find one significant thing with Poison in this build is that her hard uppercut kick is a bit glitchy. The other character I was using was Julia and for some reason whenever I would do a cross rush with (L, M, H, H) Julia and switch into Poison and do LP MP HP and hard uppercut, the opponent would be hit away by the uppercut, but for some reason before they hit the ground they would stay and float in the air for a while before falling. It was really strange and it happened consistently with this combo. Seth Killian was there and said jokingly something along the lines “What the f*ck are you doing, stop breaking the game!” it was kinda amusing. Im not sure if its just from Julia to Poison or whether its just when its during a cross rush though. Ill try with other characters tomorrow but shes looking pretty good so far, her strength being her ranged normals

I have a feeling she’ll be filling in a lot of the roles that Vega usually occupies, minus the wall bouncing of course.

If you wouldn’t mind, could you test a few things - or confirm them, if you’ve already tested - for me?

Basically, I want to know the combo properties of EX Rekka, if you can combo freely after the juggle or do you need to burn meter to follow up from it. Also, could you please check if her backflip is fully invicible like Vega’s or if she can only dodge projectiles with it.

Thanks in advance.

I’ve seen a video of Poison fighting Ken and he had her completely backed into the corner with zero space for her to move and she as able to use her backflip to completely evade a shoryuken.
I think her backflip’s just like Vega’s.

well i got a few consistent combos that i’d though would be good to post. her throw range is actually decent, so getting one in to start a combo isnt too hard if you know what your doing. also i was experimenting with her back throw. it isnt bad, i actually prefer it over her forward one. also i think its best to start most of her combos with cr.:lk: over any:lp: because its easier to hit confirm to a CrossRush or full juggle. plus you can link cr.:lk: to itself like in SF4, i did it up to a max of 3 times but the distance varies the combo ablity. anyways…

forward throw, neutral jump :hp:, cr.:lk:,st.:mk:, :hk:, :qcb::hp:X3 or Launcher. Whip of love does the most damage as it seems in this current build, so its good to use it to finish off normal combos or if there at the correct height after a tag. if you feel like their too high then use Love me tender instead, it will most likely hit them but be sure to use the correct strength to gauge where shes going to go. i personally used :lk: and:mk: more often then anything else.

back throw, forward dash, forward jump:lk:(crossup), forward:mp:(overhead),st.:lp:, cr.:hp:, :qcb::2p:X3,(close):mp:,:hp:,:qcb::lk:+:d::lk:. this uses one stock of CrossGauge, but it is good for oki~ it does moderate damage but the tricky thing about it is the (close):mp: after the EX whip. the timing is sort of close but you could kinda mash it. anyways the next time i play ima try to get more testing done.

lmao at her bitch slap throw.

slap slap slap slapslap

In terms of the Rekkas for some reason I found them a bit hard to use. Maybe because I was not used to the fightstick or my execution was just off but whenever I did try to use them after lp, mp, hp, they often didnt come out although the rekkas do combo after the basic lp mp hp. Someone else I discussed with using Poison also had difficulty using the Rekkas in general as well. I didn’t use the move too often so I cant really say anything about the move in general, sorry, although it looks like therook had better success with the rekkas than I did.

Her backflip is very similar/identical to Vega’s except I think she goes back a larger distance, as Jenet said, I was in the same situation in the corner with Poison and I did it several times while my opponent was attacking me with normals, it evaded several of the hits.

On a side note on love me tender properties. The EX version is very easy to use to punish fireballs, normal versions of the move either are not fast or high enough to jump over fireballs (kept on getting hit using the normal versions) or has extremely tight timing. It is very punishable if blocked and would not use it to close the gap unless you can confirm into the followup

The uppercut bug persisted today without the cross rush as well. It seems that it happens when they are hit by a portion of it. Also uppercut hits behind Poison while she is rising, has decent priority. So if a character jumps over and behind Poison they may still get hit by it although she may go in the wrong direction and not track the opponent properly (will try to test out more tomorrow). Throws in general act very different in this game compared to SF4, not as potent and less range yet can be used to throw people out of certain moves for example I was thrown out of EX uppercut. I’ll try to get more info on her tomorrow.
