Oh no, no I didn’t take any offense to that. I hope it didn’t seem like I did. I’m just trying to be realistic. I don’t want people going into SFxT not knowing what’s up with Poison, you know?
Ah Ok, I wasn’t sure…
But Jump ins are good in this game, Poison with her high jump makes crossups with her alittle more ambiguous. I revised my EventHubs Thread (Im trying to be a Mod over there because Im not up to SRK standards~) but i added some nifty stuff. I go into other things like Pandora and building Gem loadouts for the team. Im going to revise the later post but the first post is close to being done for the time being, just combos and stuff needed to be added.
Anybody know who Poison is gonna dress up as in her DLC costume? I totally forgot if they already showed it. Just curious, because I’m thinking either Alisa or Anna since Poison and Anna like to fault their stuff.
I don’t get it either, the way I look at it Poison is what ever you want her to be.
The Final Fight developers have already stated a while ago that it was up to the fans to decide for themselves.
Anywho, I’m looking forward to trying her out I just wish this game didn’t have a mandatory tag mechanic because I would have loved to Solo her.
Poison & Hugo is a great team though so I guess I cant be to mad.
You know, I’ve been thinking. We know that you can link after a LK LMT hit, but can we combo into it out of juggles from a heavy attack? If that were the case wouldn’t that give us more damaging options?
Some food for thought if that could work: cl:hp: xx :lk: LMT, cl:lk: s:lk: c:lp: c:mk: xx WoL or KbG
Normal LMTs might not work, but what about the EX version? The problem with EX WoL is that since it’s a 3 part rekka it scales the combo by 30% - remember the SF4 rule, it’s not the number of hits the move does but how many buttons you have to press - so using EX LMT instead could make her combos more damaging.
man Jamp you really like doing difficult stuff huh? gezz it wasnt until recent i got good at doing links…
anyways back to what you were saying, as you should know, all normal version of LMT are too slow to combo into(on a standing/crouching opponent) however the EX version has faster start up. im going to pause for a second though.
the combo you mention is still viable however its more of a mix up then an actual combo at the start.
you wont combo the close :hp: into LMT however you can use that to bait out something, if its any low, its going to be beat out by the LMT. If the LMT lands you can do that link you mentioned, :lk: x :lk: x Cr. :lp: x :mk: ~ WoL or KBG. (annoying link btw)
the start up of EX LMT is apparently fast enought to combo from :lp: Aeolus Edge so it’s gotta be fast.
but again im not sure on other ways to combo into it on the ground. but maybe a normal with enough hitstun will do the trick.
So EX LMT might work, right? Sounds like we might be using it as her BNB instead of EX WoL so the damage doesn’t scale as badly - if it does work of course.
Hopefully Jago will talk about this on his walkthrough.
I think that’s a little too much combo filler Jamp, I’d personally go with:
Whatever normal xx EX LMT -> cr.lp -> cr.mk xx KbG. That would avoid a bit of damage scaling so it might overall do a bit more damage.
Also, EX WoL is actually a 4-part Rekka so it’d actually scale any combo by 40%.
It was simply an example, I wasn’t trying to come up with a max damage BNB or anything. Your combo sounds much better and who knows if we can add more medium - or even heavy - normals there.
And I thought the launcher part of EX WoL was an automatic extension of her third rep - think Elena’s EX Spin Scythe in 3S. 40% extra scaling means the move is basically useless unless you start the combo with it o_O
SF4 scaling system is so damn retarded. They should’ve went with a proration system like Marvel’s.
Ah right right my apologies. But yeah I thought the launcher was an auto extension too until I saw the trial yesterday where it showed there were 4 separate parts. It’s whatever though, my BnB in AE only did 170 damage and I was just fine with that so we can make this work.
I’m going to list a couple of possible combos.
Guys remember we do have a power gem so take 10-20 percent of your combos and add them to your combos.
300+10%of 300= 330
Its not much but that gem does help us do Decent damage in our combos.
Ricky Ortiz is playing Poison/Rufus on the Cross Assault main stream right now. gogogo! I think he said he’s going to use Poison/Nina for the premier matches.
Her DP looks verrrrry good!
My team :o gogo
I don’t think it’ll do more damage but i’ll explain why. The initial hit of all versions of LMT do low damage, around 60 damage or so. LMT gets all of its damage from its follow up, however that ends the combo. LMT can be used has a combo starter but its only worth it if it was off a normal version, in most cases if you were going to do the EX LMT you should just do the follow up as it does around 200+ damage alone.
This is a rather accurate assumption, Poison’s :lp: Aeolus Edge is like Cody’s Bad Stone, meaning it gives alot of hit stun. In the trials they want you to do EX LMT afterwards and do Cr. :mk: into Super in another trial. This is just like Cody’s rock combos. I mention this because Poison’s LMT well the EX at least maybe like Cody’s U2 in the aspect of not being able to combo it with normals on regular hit. Counter hit is a different story~
But this brings me to making set ups for you to land a normal LMT. Canceling from Cr. :mk: during a blockstring is a good idea because if they react with a any normal, they’ll eat a counter hit. Doing LMT as wake up pressure is another, but the best one i seen so far is to punish tag ins with it, because they are easy to see and punish. The combo should look something like this. LMT(no input), Cr. :lp: x Cr. :lp: x Cr :mk: , WoL. I personally would use WoL as a ender in this situation because like Cody’s :mk: Ruffin Kick it forces the opponent into the corner and that is where I do my work~
pretty much, thats why i still think its best to start her combos with, but its good to have other options~
Poison’s DP looks like it has the best invulnerability in the game, but worst damage.
Also, I’m infuriated that RIcky is not using Love me Tender…
EDIT:
Ricky Ortiz: “Poison sucks, she does like no damage.”
Gotta say… I agree. Her damage is piss poor. Especially on SRK and Super.
Ricky is only using EX KBG that has invulnerability the normal ones not so much, but SRK still has all the invulnerability in the world o_O
her DP does good damage tho…but its no TigerUppercut, Poison’s super does low damage off a crossrush so its never really with it unless its going to kill. but Ricky isn’t using LMT because he doesnt know how good it is yet…sadly
Yeah Ricky definitely isn’t using all of her tools. I think it’s safe to say that he hasn’t had much time with the game. Hopefully he sticks with her though.
To quote Seth…Poison can cancel Cr. :hk: with fireball for frame advantage…awesome
Ryu can do it too. I’m not sure if it’s the same for all characters with fireballs.
