Whip it, whip it good - The Poison GD Thread

After playing some matches and getting into the lab I think that it is safe to say that Poison is a very under rated character.  I think that she is mid tier because of her great neutral game, meter building, zoning, and corner game.  What do you guys think?

I mentioned this~ <div><br></div><div><br></div><blockquote class=“Quote”>

In general I think LMT is her better juggle ender now since cr. :hp: has been buffed to the point its actually usable in most combos and it puts the opponent in a higher float than in vanilla.<br><br></div>

Hello newer to the poison board here.
I’m looking to pick up poison as a I’ve never really touched her at all.(And I’d very much like to…). Anyway I’ve never really had any experience with anyone like poison, I’ve always like her fireballs LMT and her rekkas and her other various feats, But I’ve been playing Nina x Heihachi since vanilla so I have no clue where to start with someone like her. Just looking to find out what I have to get out of the habit of, her general play styles and imperative things I need to know to start practicing etc. Thanks

Good go to ground buttons:<br><br>s.LP - nothing special outside of not having to resort to cr.LP for jab pressure and risking a raw launcher as a punish. Though I only say this because Kim in KoF has a normal similar to this that stops just about every air move except a few. active frames stick out for awhile.</span></font></div><div class=“QuoteAuthor” style=“font-style: normal; font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 25.5px;”><font face=“Arial, Verdana”><span style=“font-size: 10pt; line-height: normal;”>j.HK - Another good “air to air” normal but best used at the startup since her foot hits above her legs before it extends down. Pretty much the opposite of jumpback j.MP where you’d use this jumping forward hoping for a counter hit>whatever juggle you get.</span></font></div><div class=“QuoteAuthor” style=“font-style: normal; font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 25.5px;”><font face=“Arial, Verdana”><span style=“font-size: 10pt; line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div class=“QuoteAuthor” style=“font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 25.5px;”><font face=“Arial, Verdana”><span style=“font-size: 10pt; line-height: normal;”>j.HP and j.HK <i>can</i> cross up but please don’t rely on those as it’s pretty situational for both. (moresoe j.HK). j.HP is a bit easier but again, don’t worry about stuff like that right now. stick with j.LK until you fool around with j.HP in training mode.</span></font></div><div class=“QuoteAuthor” style=“font-style: normal; font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 25.5px;”><font face=“Arial, Verdana”><span style=“font-size: 10pt; line-height: normal;”>She overall has a good set of normals for their situations. But you generally want to stay grounded with her instead of challenging others in the air with her. Her DP (Kissed by a goddess) does a good job of anti airing as long as it’s the MK version (don’t bother with LK or HK for AA situations.)</span></font></div><div class=“QuoteAuthor” style=“font-style: normal; font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 25.5px;”><font face=“Arial, Verdana”><span style=“font-size: 10pt; line-height: normal;”><br></span></font></div><div class=“QuoteAuthor” style=“font-style: normal; font-family: ‘lucida grande’, ‘Lucida Sans Unicode’, tahoma, sans-serif; font-size: 15px; line-height: 25.5px;”><font face=“Arial, Verdana”><span style=“font-size: 10pt; line-height: normal;”>just a small runthrough.</span></font></div>

Thanks pretty much exactly what I was looking for. She’s definitely going on point with either Hei or Nina in anchor spot. ( Not decided, I’ll prolly decide later after I test the synergy/combos and what not) also I need to get used to her cadc because I feel like I should utilize it with poison, since it’s a bit easier to do. Also is it worth it at all to EX CADC to then get a CH on the elbow drop or no?

Since you like Nina, I would say to try Nina as an anchor for Poison because Nina is one of the few characters that can combo off of Poison’s Kiss by a goddess (her dp) off anywhere on screen.  If you are interested see my writeup for her combos in the Poison combo section or the Poison team synergy section of these forums.  <div><br></div><div>Also some tips for Poison are: Her st lp is a 3 frame normal so use it to pressure, her far lp is an under rated normal that can combo into crmk and can be used for pressure.</div><div><br></div><div>Besides that listen to what the post above said about Poison’s normals. </div>

We have confirmed months ago that J.HP never crosses up, it’s ambiguous because she lands on the otherside. there has been no hitbox changes to the move since vanilla.

Hey guys, not sure if there’s much use of this but since I’ve already made it for wikia article, I’ll post it here, too
Aeolus Edge range comparison

That’s pretty handy!
