Gill is a special case, and indeed the whole reason for having two palettes per character on the CPS3 hardware. For everyone else, the palettes for both sides is identical, but Gill’s are different.
I know you don’t want to, but look, in a Gill mirror or Gill vs. Urien match, at the thong. You’ll notice that the sprite is indeed mirrored, and just the colors change.
It’s a neat effect, and makes it look as though there’s much more art than there really is. Oro makes it look alot less convincing, though, because the leading arm is always there.

I always thought it was just bad game design to give Sagat no weakness and loads of strengths in like…every SF game ever.
But people always go on about how SF is such a great balanced fighter and stuff, yet we get characters who purposefully have no weakness and lots of strengths. Yeah.
I think they could leave him alone, just nerf his health a bit. I mean, Akuma has some pretty shitty stamina, and it’s not like he’s had his chest SRK’d off, or his eye put out.
Heihachi had his health nerfed as well, old bastard @.@;

At a noob level, sure. To really play a proper C Sagat you need to be able to do the low short, stand jab, stand jab, low forward, xx link consistently. Although that’s not the easiest link in the world, it’s probably easier to execute for most people than running Sakura or painting the fence.
