Krandor Ive never tried as an auto correct dp because ex dp does that better and with less risk of whiffing. Also, most abels wont be crossing you up besides when its deep and u2 will whiff
does anyone here have a problem with Raging Slash just barely missing it’s target?
It’s timing and spacing is pretty tight. You got to hit them before you reach the peak of it AND they have to not be too close to the ground or too close to you. I just started using it, and I have to say I absolutely love it for how it changes the match as discussed before.
Since it’s a throw it won’t catch limbs like other AAs. I had an issue overshooting it for a little while because of that.
I like both ultras, but I slightly favor U1. When you are down on your luck, I feel like U2 is not quite the tide turner that U1 can be. Simply, no one is going to jump in on you when you have U2 ready to go.
U1 overall has been more help to me then U2
and as mentioned before
whose stupid enough to jump when they see you have U2 Locked and loaded?
^^ are you seriously still using that shitty argument? Whos stupid enough to stand there against t.hawk even when he doesnt have u1? Thats a terrible argument. Forcing them to the corner with FOOTSIES and spacing is great. Once they’re in the corner then what? Block forever? Eventually they WILL jump. It isnt just “hey hawks there, im here, im gonna jump in blindly”
I’m a Gief player from vanilla 4, so naturally I gave Hawk a few trials. U1 seems similarly awesome to Gief’s UAB. I love grabs that appear to be out of throw range, but have that little bit of reach.
I know Tomahawk Buster isn’t the greatest anti-air, but using Hawk I’ve felt pretty comfortable against opponents who like to jump in. I can’t rely on Ultra 2 because it’s a tough Ultra to land, or at least it is for me. Furthermore, I reason if you’re good with Hawk, you can already get in close. With Ultra 1, you can sort of do what you already do well, but punish harder.
Shameless plug, but my favorite thing about Ultra 2 is that I liked Inspector Willoughby when I was a kid, and .
unless someone’s using a character with good aerial attacks
a player is most likely going to be on the ground more then they are in the air
and if your a clutch moment and need to whip out the ultra
good luck doing that with U2…
your fate is in your opponents hands if they stay grounded and assault you with either quick attacks or projectiles your doomed
while U1 just requires your opponent to be grounded which they should be most of the time
This is a dumb thread. Should just be locked. Unless someone finds a way to option select U2 it will always be a sometimes sketchy, but perfectly viable Ultra.
It just seems that the same points will just keep coming up and they will always have the same counter arguments.
Honestly, I feel like both Ultras have their uses. It might as well be said that I’m a slightly below average player who only plays on xbox live, so don’t try to argue me down, I can understand that my point might be flawed.
Against a character that I think will be difficult to hit often with even a regular MT, I’ll pick Ultra 2, usually if I see a Cammy, Adon etc.
Against a character like Balrog I’ll usually use Ultra 1, simply because most Rog’s I play don’t jump a lot.
Of course you can get into the idea of setting up Ultra 2, in which case it becomes really useful, but I generally try to save it as a threat/punishment.
^ You don’t get a chance for MT’s against Cammy’s? I mean sure, the only Cammy’s I’ve played a lot are online ones but Cammy is straight rushdown and most of her moves can be punished with a MT.
O realllllly. :smokin: So you will continue approach even when I sudden stop half screen away? Will you really? Or will you react to the run? Would you block low? Also Guy doesn’t need ex to get pass full screen nonsense. You would have known that if you acutally know his matchup. Like I said, why the hell would I stop in front of you? I rather hit a button then stoping at his stupid face. Also would you really block high on reaction from a full block string? Im not even talking about one either. You wouldn’t understand his footies anyways. Anyways this thread dum. :lame: Have fun discussing for a respond for this. :shy:I’m done posting at stuff here.
there’s really no reason at all to pick U2(Raging Slash)
i mean if zangief players can agree his U1 is better then His U2 and that his U2 isn’t worth the risk
why can’t hawk players do the same?
because giefs ultra 2 operates entirely differently than hawks and because you are clearly retarded for trying to make a connection with the two besides the fact that they both stop air attacks.
i would advise everyone to not listen to anything crimson cobra says about anything about hawk. you have some of the worst arguments against u2 ive ever seen. can we see some videos of you playing? im hilariously intrigued.
Doesn’t change the fact that raging slash is just not worth it in the end(it does ok damage but it’s not worth all the risk)
most of the people who pick U2 just want to instill that fear into they’re opponent.
But here’s the thing News Flash!..Nobody’s that stupid
it’s like jumping in the air while hakan has his U2 charged
not only does it cost you but it makes you look like a bad player in the end.
Unless they have to jump in the air and i mean really really must do that jump
then there’s no reason at all for them to be jumpy all over the place knowing they’re opponent has a ultra that can pop them in the face for acting like a rabid chimp that’s off the walls out of control.
It’s a very situational ultra that puts your fate in your opponent’s hands they can either act stupid and jump like you want them to or they can wise up and stand they’re ground being very cautious of anything you’re about to throw at them.
/sigh. This argument is back.
First of all, I’m sorry and I hate to pick on anyone, but you made a thread just recently whining about doing TB’s, and Condor spires. You are nowhere near the caliber of player to be making this strong of a statement. If you had maybe said something that was more of an opinion and less of a statement I might have let it go, but I hate to think that people might actually be listening to you.
My personal opinion, whether it’s wrong or not, is that both ultras have their uses. I believe the choice between the two comes down to your own personal playstyle and the matchups themselves. If you can pull off U2 reliably then good for you, I’m sure that you are enjoying the benefits of grounded, scared opponents. If you hit U1 all the time, a tip of the hat to you good sir, I’m sure you are enjoying many come from behind wins and full use of your EX meter.
Ok, I’ve said my piece and I’m done now. Screw this thread. Too much theory-craft and not enough proof.
whining? well excuse me mr.fancypants…
maybe i went a little overboard with this argument indeed
sorry if i did
but i gotta tell everyone U2 is nowhere near as good as U1
sure it has some uses and might come in handy(the word is might)but when the day’s over and you reflect on what you did
You might wish you had that 60 extra points of damage to help ya out(U1 is only 10 points weaker then the ultimate atomic buster aka the overcome all ultra)
against someone with pitifully low stamina 450 might be as dangerous as 510
but for the most part i bet you’ll be facing characters with a stamina of 1000
so not much lost on they’re part
Okay I’ll say this again. Your argument is LOL WHOS STUPID ENOUGH TO JUMP ON HAWK WITH U2. and its absolutely horrible.
Heres mine. Whos stupid enough to stay on the ground against hawk after he makes them block a normal? LOL NOONE THATS WHY U1 IS USELESS HEHE.
See how your logic is terrible?
i see what you mean
is this a better argument?
it’s a ok ultra
but when i see Siberian Blizzard
i think it’s a better anti-air ultra then Raging Slash for what it does
and seeing as that ultra’s nowhere near as good as Ultimate Atomic Buster
you can see where i get my statement from
