You can do the exact same thing with HK Senpusha and it’s actually kind of easier to continue off of imo because of how long they are stuck in Senpusha.
I end my Juri combos in c.MK xx HK Senpusha xx Tag on first hit
Then I walk forwards with Raven until they fall and do a full c.HP WCDC combo.
Well, I believe st. HP xx MK PW (without scaling if all hits hit) would be 210. cr. MK xx HK PW (without scaling if all hits hit) would be 200. So 10 more damage without scaling. With scaling, I imagine it would still be better to st. HP xx MK PW as the hardest hit (HP) would be earlier in the scaling process.
But, I don’t think you can cr. HP > jc > j. HP > cr. MK xx HK Pinwheel into good tag options, if any. I might be wrong. I can’t test it right now. But I think ending in st. HP xx MK Pinwheel gives you better options.
I assure you that you can. You can get a full Raven combo of it at least. I’ve done it multiple times, including in tournament haha. I will have to test out MK pinwheel though, might end up being better.
Been running Xiaoyu with Juri since day one. The fact that after the Phoenix Talon, you can switch into Juri, who can end the combo with her J. HP, cr. MK xx LK Senpusha. (That’s what I mostly use as an ender.)
I love and still love the synergy with this team, and the fact that I found most of the synergy in the first few days of the game surprised even me. I’m still finding more ways to get the most damage at the cost of little to no meter. Despite them having low health, they work amazing together.
I found that you can sneak in a j.HK inbetween EX Shikusen hits if you tag it, for example with Cammy as partner I can do:
Juri: j.HK > 2HP jc EX Divekick xx tag(Cammy) > j.HK > (Divekick ends here) > j.HK again > cl.MP xx Cannon Strike xx tag …
The divekick multi-hits don’t increase damage reduce, and the last hit resets the juggle count. Could be worth using instead of an extra tag depending on the partner, lots of hard hits with few damage reduce. Not optimal for Cammy (compared to j.HK > 2HP xx Senpusha xx tag etc… )
For Cammy/Juri:
Shikusen > 2nd Impact xx tag 1st hit (Cammy) > st.HK jc j.HP > cl.MP xx Cannon Strike
Also I think the trick to land Spiral Arrow(hk) xx tag (Juri) > 2HP is to tag cancel on the first tagcancellable frame, at the same moment SA hits.
Regarding Juri/Cammy safe tags on guards with mix-up followups, I’ve found HK Senpusha xx tag > st.HK(blockstring) jc j.HK (cross-up). And HK Spiral Arrow xx tag > 2HP(blockstring) jc/CADC, a bit hard to get the timing to connect 2HP, 2MK/MP are easier but less options available after them.
alright. I did cr. HP > jc > j. HP > cr. MK xx HK Pinwheel and I get no ability to combo from there when I cancel into a partner.
I do cr. HP > jc > j. HP > st. HP xx MK Pinwheel and juggling is easy when canceling into a partner. Plus, the base combo does 20 more damage (273 for your combo, 293 for this combo).
Maybe there’s some cool crap you can do with Raven off of that, but not the case for the characters I tested it with.
Yes, definitely. It’s why I alternate whether Juri should be first or second in a battle. While Xiaoyu is, to me, the most technical character in the game, if you’re able to pull off the execution periodically well, it’s totally worth it. Xiaoyu has some good combos that rely on her timing rather than meter.
It took me a long time to figure out how to do her combos well, and at the time I was just messing around, but now that I’m somewhat good with the execution, Xiaoyu is a good partner. I’m not telling you to do it right away, it’s just a suggestion.
Weird, it is super easy to comb off for me, (you can walk forward for ages until they fall down) but it sounds MK is better anyway.
Are you doing it low enough? Maybe you are doing it too early and the last hit of HK senpusha is missing, making them fall instead of being launched above the screen?
Xiaoyu’s execution isn’t that difficult. It’s the whole getting used to stance cancelling and finding the rhythm for her cr.:hk: xx AOP, stance cancel loop. So far, there isnt anything beyond that. I started Xiaoyu, while she is ridiculously good at inside pressure. She has trouble in the long and mid-range, especially when she can’t get away with jump-in and her gimmick dive-kick. This weakness in the mid-range is what made me drop her. But she has great combos that do a lot of damage and can meter-less tag off an overhead combo that ends in her cr.:hk: loop. She’s also a great character, but I don’t feel she does well to cover up Juri’s harder matchups.
How do you safely tag cancel from Lili to Juri on guard (blockstring if possible)?
I tried to find a Lili move xx tagcancel(juri) > cr.HP blockstring but no success.
For safe tag cancels, I just look for any move that hits twice, since hitstop only affects the attacking and defending character. Lili should be able to use 214K > MK, 236K (3rd hit), (air) 214HK.
Edit: The guide says air 236K is only 2 hits on hit.
Let’s say I want to pair Juri with someone with GOOD pressure up close, many ways to open up the opp (high, lows or cmd grabs) and decent pokes. Who should I look for?
Marduk looks fun to play with because of what I saw Mike Ross doing on the negative days of the game, but I haven’t seen/heard of anyone pairing the two. Juri/Asuka is pretty popular and in fact someone here made an awesome video about them together. I don’t remember their name right now because my brain is maya scrambled, but what makes you want to switch.
I’m currently running a Cammy/Juri team but I find it ridiculously hard when someone picks a zoning team. Earlier today I lost to a Ogre/Sagat team. From the beginning all he would do is hold back and if i jump at him do that 360 degree reversal and if hes cornered he would do that full screen teleport business. I would try doing my own zoning game, but that teleport I can never tell what side it is and I feel like Sagat is a better zoner than Juri in this game + the cammy vs Sagat match up has never been kind.
