SNK BOSSES AND GGX2 mission and some story modes. oh yeah street fucking fighter 1 OMH
I played sf1 for about 3 seconds then gave up. Can’t even walk, you have to hop everywhere. I have no clue how the engine in that game works, but it seems the AI does.
DA GAME forgot about one game:Ultimate MK3.If you fight against Jade & you do an auto combo she’ll combo your ass back on between yours.CHEAP!!!
My vote goes to MK. I’ve fought Jade maybe ten times, and I’ve never been able to do shit besides block damage. And I never beat Kintaro.
Back in the day
I am going to go way back in the past and say
LAST BRONX on the sega saturn that game was wild from round1 even on easy i have to say
ultimate mortal kombat does have some crazy cracked ai system as well but i only want to think of old main games
fuck all of that. My vote goes to mugen. It’s still a game ya know. More of an engine though. Evil Ken for mugen has got more AI than anything that will ever exist.
I found this while looking up Samurai Showdown V stuff (someone said it was one of the hardest AI’s ever).
I noticed a lot of people posted game bosses and stuff that isn’t AI related.
Mecha Gouki in MS vs SF isn’t AI cheap, he’s a damage dealing monster. The one or two hits he lands on you are just devestating thats all. Easy way to beat him? throws, Chaos Dimension, Omega Red (all hail MvSF master! woot), and of course… Zangief… lol thats just cuz throws are hardcore.
Anyways, yes Jade is hardcore AI, MK is hardcore AI basically because the system itself is just that hardcore (not as many infinites, max damage limits, less combo opportunities).
SNK bosses don’t fall into that category, why? because Goenitz in SvC chaos isn’t hard AI, he doesn’t pull tricks or fake you out or anything. He has overprioritized and damaging moves that getting around w/o top tier characters is just hard to do.
A truely hard AI is something that chooses the right course of action in the current situation. In cases like Jade, she counters, she opens you up. There are patterns but they’re much less so that something like Mecha Gouki: he’ll do Fireball, Throw his fist, dash up, sweep, its his bread and butter. Goenitz throws out random wind colums.
in SSV the AI is damned hard, fighting against Jubei who used his Rage mode to his complete advantage was awesome to see (plus I was using low hp Ukyo lol). The mid boss is a good mix of both, he traps and tricks you and still has over powered moves therfore making him even more annoying than Mecha Gouki.
Guilty Gear X2 has some Decent AI, unfortunately I think I’ve played the game on Maniac w/ Potemkin so much I don’t think I notice it anymore.
Also I’ve noted some really good shit on Alpha3, Blanka in Vism actually pulled off a good sized CC on me.
I’ll say A3, (probably because I don’t play the game AND only have a shit controller to play the emu on), and GGXX mission mode(don’t play this game either). I don’t even remeber what mk was like.
MK Tri on N64, smart AI mixed in with cheap tactics and a piece of shit control makes it almost impossible. Also SSF2T on 8 is fucking hard though i can still beat it considering the cmptr always does the same shit. KOF bosses on max difficulty shit they are hard I challenge anyone to play KOF 2K1 and beat Igniz on your first try with out losing a single man and getting a perfect. Theres also the GGXX missons gawd damn are they impossible, and thats about it.
**THE AI IGNIZ KILLED ME WITH A INFINITE COMBO! WTF!? **
Other than that, i would say darkstalkers was pretty hard. Pyron was the hardest boss i have ever faced.
And indeed the MK AI is bullshit.
LOL XD XD XD. my hardest cpu was sf2t ryu on hardest diff. he fireballs… you jump… he DP… he jump roundhouse to cl.roundhouse… repeats till you block… goes right back into fireballs and dont jump, you’ll eat a DP
fixed
I dont recall Cyber-Akuma very well. But for me the biggest pain in the ass was ST T. Hawk. I Swear this version of T. Hawk is top tier. The rest of the cast was fairly tough too but T. Hawk was a huge pain in my ass.
Golden Sol.
None. Even the seemingly hardest AIs have a pattern and you can most likely discover it on youtube. lol
That said, before I found out what I stated above, I hated the AI in pretty much, every SFII, the1st Darkstalkers, and Eternal Champions. I found out about the KOF boss loop holes on my own.
Necrothread? Jesus… wtf
KoF / GG mission mode / most hidden bosses are all just cheese factories rather than actual difficulty. As said, they have patterns that can be broken. Sorry, but walk up flash kicks and walk up 720s aren’t “challenging AI” - they’re cheap AI.
That said, hardest AI I’ve ever come across was the first Darkstalkers or Cyberbots on max difficulty. AoF2 was hard as well.
MK games and Super Turbo just had that cheesy reactive shit.
It looks like ST was modelled on the habits of top players though. The AI actually uses legit footsie techniques. eg. Hawk will do whiff nj.hk into SPD, or he’ll poke with st.mk and when you try to counter-poke he hops over it with Condor Dive. After launching a barrage of attacks, he’ll stutter-step at footsie range then walk-up throw. Ken will get you to whiff stuff then throw he’ll walk up and grab. Cammy has insane footsies, but they messed up her ranges by a few pixels in some cases in some cases so you can bait a cr.mk and then whiff punish it when she enters a certain range. All these things happen often enough to indicate that these strategies were programmed in the AI. The most obvious habit that was copied from a human player was after Ryu dizzies you he whiffs a few light jabs, just like TZW used to do. I think that’s been in the game since Champion Edition.
Hmm… I don’t think I played enough CPU after Champion Edition to have ever noticed that.
Thanks.
I believe SNK bosses don’t count: they are overpowered, they would be hard not matter what they spammed. MK, on the other hand, does not cheat, but reacts in retarded ways, such as instant run up + jump-in against projectiles. You can not beat them by getting better at the game - which is something you can in ST - but by noticing holes in their patterns. Or counting on the random behavior (a result of some RNG) deciding not to counter what you do.
SF2CE has a though AI, which was moved to HF and became very hard because the game is faster. If is merciless against ticks and mess-up combos because it was made to teach players that reversal throw was in - which already was in WW, but the AI did’t use it.
Western ST cheats on damage, mostly. You can beat it by getting better and avoiding a few things you know it will counter, and you can beat it by exploiting patterns. I don’t find it that hard, specially cos you can make most characters eat a super for free on wake-up.
Alpha games were easy, all of them. The only trouble are final characters and shin Akuma. But shin Akuma was also hard in ST.
Fatal Fury and Fatal Fury Special had hard AIs. Fatal Fury was particularly hard cos it was hard to obtain specials. The game sucked, anyway.
I don’t think I have ever died to Cyber Akuma. And I suck at x-over series games. Not hard at all, if you build meter instead of trying to apply pressure.
I’d choose mortal combat and Tekken.
