Hey guys. I’m gauging some interest for another project.
So I’d like to know:
Which arcade stick style do you prefer? Flat (like my SimpleCases, or with a sloping angle?
Thanks.

Tend to prefer a slight slant to arcade stick cases as it’s easier on the wrists.
I like the slight slant like the Namco stick
I like flat. Having my wrist angled up for the buttons fatigue my forearm
A stick should at least have a slight slant to it. Flat can be alright to, but is the least ergonomic IMO.
Like the Hori HRAP design. Its not much at all but the slant is there.
Very slight slant is best.
I wish I was better at woodworking to get it right.
Just keep practicing. You’ll get better.
The less you have to measure the easier it gets.
bring back the slant! the flat + thick picture frame design has overstayed its welcome for me. bring back the MAS, byrdo (non-superman shaped picture frame design), etc style.
Slant is ok if you play with the stick on your lap but my preference is a flat case on a desk or table for the more authentic arcade feel.
How’s this?

I’m still tweaking the design a bit on this one but I like it a lot; even more than the flat SimpleCase. The outer dimensions are the same as the SimpleCase (11.75"x9") but the height is a bit different. It slopes from 2.5" in the back to 2" in the front. It’s very subtle, but you can feel the difference.
I’m just more used to a slant. I built my stick around the MAS design and that’s what I’ve been using for the last 9 years or so.
I’d say slanted, its easier on the wrists.
It’s a trick question :).
It all depends on how high the panel is sitting when you are playing! If well below your elbows, I vote flat. If even with or above, slanted.
Slanted + Sweat friendly Ergo Gel for the wrists would be great =] Namco Stick has a great angle to it.
A slight slant (e.g. Namco and AIAB sticks) is best for me. It really doesn’t matter too much though, so long as it’s consistent. The Madcatz SE’s panel surface is awful for my wrists (TE is good though).
Flat, like a Japanese candy cab.
these are beautiful, man. do u think u can make a limited run of slightly larger cases to accommodate happ parts? slightly larger and taller. after MK got released, i feel like tryin out true old school-ness simply for the nostalgia lol
I could, I just wouldn’t know what layout to do for those. Not many capcom 6 layouts any more…
When you guys say slant, which way are you talking about? With the the edge of the stick closer to you raised or the edge of the stick further from you raised?
In the pic below the left edge is the rear. The edge further from you is raised. Like a namco stick.
