There’s going to be a 2nd round mainly because of Juju. She’s not in the first round due to legal issues; but assuming that clears up, she’ll replace whoever wins. They’re also gonna accelerate the voting the next time around. It won’t take as long then.

Because voting one arch-type in will make it less likely to get it twice due to personal inclinations. How many people would want 2 lolis or 2 males? the same thing has haunted Panzerfaust, lots less people said they’d vote for him because Big Band is already in. It’s safe to assume that if one of any arch-type get in, we’re very unlikely to get a second of the same.
I want to ask a question for the Minette haters:
What do you hate/dislike about Minette other than her aesthetic value? Is there anything else? And for those who are voting against her not because of her playstyle but because of her appearance, what’s so bad about her appearance that you can’t stand her?

Nothing to do with looks, i just hate the accidental fighter, clumsy moe cliche. And alex said she wasnt going to be a fighter.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Juju is not going to be available in the second character vote.

Practically this, except instead of a Soldier on a Motorcycle there will be some guy on a bike rolling in and hitting the opponent (at least that’s the way I understood it).
yea; just various disconnected ranged attacks, but she’s to get buffs/super by collecting tips. If the cash goes flying off and needs collecting it sounds fun; or if the buffs are random-ish; if moves just build your 2nd super meter it sounds boring
Why I don’t like Minette
She’s type of joke character I’m not a fan of. Phoenix Wright style not really attack attacks? groans
Her playstyle sounds like Arakune or Bang style level up
It sounds like she’s going to be more appealing to look at than play. There’s a few characters like this (like Annie, who is in my A tier of choices), remove the lulz/spectacle factor (it’s going to be tired in a week or 2) and Minette’s playstyle sounds the most boring of them (unlike Annie who has a sword and parasite that seems to be a shape shifter).
Don’t care how she looks (I like her look), the gameplay lameness isn’t tied to her appearance but the appearance for her moves.
So what exactly happened with Juju then? I heard the guy who made her pissed off mike or something and he was like fuck it we’ll just erase her completely. I’ve never heard a full story for it or one that was confirmed as legit.
Well, they changed the minette gameplay style thingy… Before it just said that she didnt want to fight and would clumsily cause damage…more or less… The new story is random people and objects getting in the way (being thrown at the opponent,basically) and since thats seems much more suited to zoning and alot like arakune who is one of my favorite fighting character designs of all time… Now im more or less NOT so opposed to her… I mean her aesthetic design is still repugnant from a fighting game standard… But chucking shit (people) at people sounds like fun… After all pressing buttons is what amounts to fun in many if not most fighting games and thats the exact reason why i like to play peacock… I get to press lots of buttons without necessarily NEEDING to… So even when i lose with her i can still have mucho fun.
Still detest design… Just had t say that… But her gameplay has gone from absolutely retarded as a concept to pretty cool.
So no to random tripping and flailing and accidentally hurting people and yes to random patrons doing her bidding.

I have nothing against Frank or his level up mechanic. I have nothing against level up mechanics. The issue, her level up doesn’t really stand out, it sounds too familiar. Beatrix level up mechanic sounds more interesting than Minette’s.
Faust is unorthodox, RoboKy is unorthodox, Zabel is unorthodox, BBHood is unorthodox, Drunken Fighting is unorthodox. Minette sounds like Phoenix Wright.

Whats wrong with having more than 1 big character?
I wouldn’t say there’s anything wrong with having more than 1 big character, especially in a roster with dozens of characters, but in a roster with less than a dozen characters, I’d rather bring as much diversity to the roster rather than bring another large character to the roster.
So by that logic, I can only assume you didn’t vote for Minette or Annie since we already have 2 small characters in Peacock and Painwheel.
Beatrix doesn’t have a level-up mechanic and never hinted to have one. Only Yoshimitsu-style hard-hitting double-edged attacks.
Unlike other level-up characters, Minette appears to level-up only with a super. It seems natural that she’ll get a bigger boost each time. From her description, it seems Minette will go from circumstantial attack to full-blown fighter once she builds her confidence. There’s probably a bigger difference between Clumsy and Confident modes than Frank West does across his levels.
And I really like how different Phoenix Wright plays in different modes. Phoenix Wright is only weak in Investigation Mode. A decent player would minimize how much time he would be in it. Trial Mode puts him in mid-tier depending on what evidence he has. Turnabout Mode is a beast. If Minette has this shift in gameplay like Phoenix instead of just a power-up like Frank West, she would be awesome.
I actually hope it wouldn’t be very much like Frank’s level up. Nobody wants normals that do chip in SG
