It’s massively annoying when you play these newcomers that use them both and spam hurricane kicks and their beam hypers all day. They use it like it’s their only moves. Plus when they do the same old Hurricane Kick into super combo, it just pisses me off. And the damn auto-correct on Ryu’s beam hyper is ridiculous. I’m tired of teleporting behind of the hyper only for it to automatically get pointed up. Freaking ridiculous.
And don’t get me started on Akuma’s taunt. The second I see it mid-match, someone’s gonna die. Good thing my team can go 100% on everyone…
Haggar and Hulk when they spam Pipe and H respectively. Not that they’re hard to deal with, my team beats that out for free. It just pisses me off that people think that’s a legitimate strategy and actually use it in a damn tournament.
Hitting the button is fine, but going from one corner to the other doing just that? Come on now, it’s almost insulting that they’d think it would work after not working the last 50 times consecutively.
It’d be nice if she had maybe a jump loop or something, like if cr.H brought the opponent closer towards her and a bit higher, or juggled onto the chains for a while and then knocked them up. I wouldn’t mind if her cr.H didn’t something completely different altogether… I whiff my S about 50% of the time online (Y’know, the Iron Man 5H S problem)
I’ve never seen anyone do a fly combo with her… They probably tried and decided Magneto was easier.
Same with Hsien-Ko and Morrigan, I’ve never seen anyone get complicated with her. I’ve seen the ol’ Wesker style combo with magic series to launcher to magic series to launcher to OTG xx, but never anything fancy on ground. I have watched people drop her combos though. Guess they’re trying to do the stuff you’re talking about.
I don’t mean this offensively to anyone who likes these characters, but I refer to them as the douchebag characters. Wolverine, Wesker, Akuma, Sentinel, Dante, and Zero. I call them this because most of the douchebags who think they are amazing at this game for spamming brain dead, simple combos online and have the audacity to teabag after they win use these characters.
Wolverine is obvious. He’s very easy to use and can kill characters with a single combo. Wesker is another one simply because of how ridiculously hard he is to punish. Akuma is another character that I cannot stand and not really for his tatsu assist. I hate how ridiculous he is in level 3 x-factor (granted so is everyone on this list), but beam spamming Akuma’s are pretty annoying. Sentinel is also an obvious one. His assist doesn’t do much against me since Deadpool can lock down that assist. But his lame super armor cr. M that leads into a mind numbingly simple combo that does so much damage, which can lead into another hyper, etc is so lame. If we had a nickel for everytime we got rocket punched OTG’d and then hyper Sentinel Force’d after that, we could retire at 30.
Dante and Zero are not as bad, but people spamming jumping S online with Dante is annoying because jumping S can be hard to punish online. I’ve come across several Zeros who have destroyed me, but they don’t act obnoxious. But I hate fighting him though. I also dislike fighting Ammy and Pheonix. Especially Pheonix players whos first two character are there for nothing more than just gaining meter for Pheonix so they can use super broken Dark Pheonix.
Because dat slide ain’t safe unless you cancel it into Catapult and that gets very predictable very quickly.
If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball. Seriously 20 frames in fighting games is an eternity. Also unless he teleports adjacent to you then you shouldn’t have much to worry about. Is Wesker hard to pin down? Yes. Is his teleport when done raw hard to react to? No.
it is a legit strategy if it hits, it is like beating someone online and there are calling you noob and you beat them. Pair morrigan with ryu, phoenix or any other heavy weight meter hungry character and the opponent is in for a world of hurt. It is about team not individual, same for Hsein ko with hulk, she hulk, spencer is unblockable. The point of the slide is she hulk has a lot of option to cancel, clothesline, command grap, air grap you name the mix up she has it.
I don’t even play around with j.S. It’s not as safe as hammer so i treat it like Wolverine dive kick. If I block Dante j.S XF guard cancel dead Dante. Sentinel is another character I always safe my XF for if I can. Block something, XF guard cancel, gone.
Maybe it’s me, but the sudden shift in camera angle, the positioning on Wesker, and blocking the pistol shot transitioning into blocking a teleport is never easy. I’ve fought him more than there are days in a year and I STILL get crossed up by his ass thanks to that damn bullet.
I’d like to add that 20 frames is an eternity when that designated attack has been programmed into your reflex memory. I’ll bet it’s also an eternity when you whiff a projectile because Wesker punished you thanks to the same reflexes he’s learned from you. You built the reflex to punish his teleport, he built the reflex to abuse the hell out of his pistol more and play it patiently with his inside.
Wesker is a tough match up but zoning team also gives him problem, maybe capcom should make you input the command for teleport rather than pressing a button
So much salt for every character even though most of it can easily be beaten.
Zero:
-Runaway until I finally get you with one of my automatic crossup moves
-Charged shot hits you outside of a combo and they charge another one, waiting for yo salty ass to get back up
Wesker:
-High damage low execution plus easy to combo off of air throw equals every “dropped” combo is a reset
-lvl1 counter that lets you combo off of
-teleport that makes you calculate his distance
-Only character left? No problem. Activate Lvl3 XF “Dark Wesker rises!” Spam bullet that’s faster than the speed of light until you die or cancel into teleport for ridiculous damage monkey execution kill.
Ammy:
-Small(Same for Arthur, V. Joe, and most likely Rocket Racccon)
-HHHHHHHHHH into whateverthehellshewants
-insane priority
Spider-Man:
-Web zips/slings/whatever in the air all over the screen until he gets a hit. If you try to attack he’ll just block
-insanely fast
Akuma:
-Tatsu, tatsu, tatsu
-90% of people who (ab)use him online and get a cheap win, use his “weak” taunt afterwards
I know how you feel for the most part, but I need to note that Ryu’s Shinku Hadoken doesn’t have any auto-correct; that’s all the player, aiming the shinku with the stick to go up or down or wherever it needs to go. So if you teleport above them to try and surprise them, that’s a Ryu player actually catching onto you.
Honestly, I NEVER see good Dante’s online. Dante’s don’t bother me online cuz alllllll Dante players do the same exact thing. Teleport and then j.S into the guns, into spinning sword, jump a couple moves then Guns special. I mean thats so simple and so predictable.I never run into a Dante that will like, bold cancel and do super extended combo’s you see pro players do. And he has small health, so killing him isn’t hard at all. Dante salt is strange to me sometimes.
WESKER SALT IS ANOTHER THING. Fucking zone with the Gun all day, teleport, combo a bit, then use gun to otg with assist, combo again, otg gun and use full team special. And he has so much health and can do so much damage. I’d rather fight a million Wolverines than run into Wesker, jesus christ.
The thing with Hulk is while he is about as easy as it gets to use, he has many major weaknesses. For one, a good zoner can give HULK a lot of trouble. I will admit I get really pissed when I get hit by some random spamming his super armor st. H online, but seriously, he really isn’t that bad to deal with. You have to be patient against him otherwise you will die. Not to mention, most HULK’s online have the intelligence of a toast crumb. When st H is blocked, they go immediately for his launcher leaving him wide open to punishment. I’ve fought a few smart HULKs who use his jumping H and st H but either cover it with a projectile assist or don’t go for the launcher afterwards. All I really do is push block them and zone them to death with Deadpool. I will usually DHC Jill out to get Deadpool in so I can just shoot him to death. Trish is also another character on my team who gives HULK a hard time.
In fact, I had a guy on ranked matches saying I wasn’t play Call of Duty and I wasn’t playing fair because I wouldn’t let his HULK get near me. I guess I’m just supposed to let him get close and spam his super armor move.
Honestly, I use that combo in 2/5 matches IF it works. I’m not great at bold canceling so I don’t use that combo alot but I do know it. Nonetheless I agree that tooo many Dante players use that shit and I oddly fall for it a few times. I’ve played countless Dantes and only 2 were actually better than mine and I’m above avg but under pro level.
