Besides the loss, that was some beautiful zoning by Juri.
Why are some people saying fast fireballs are good? I heard that they were terrible…
Dee Jay His medium fireball catches a lot of people off guard since they are used to the light fireball

Yeah, I don’t see how Juri has a great fireball game when she can’t handle Honda, Bipson or Sakura. Guile, by comparison, shits all over them.
Juri just looks stronger vs other fireballers, similar to Sim or Rose.
How is Juri-Honda matchup had? e.e
Obviously Gief is the best zoner

I was expecting to see some Gief zoning. I’m disappointed.
- Juri can’t reliably AA him
- Headbutts are unpunisheable
- He deals massive damage off everything
- Juri can’t pressure him on wakeup at all (see 2. - even if you safejump and he reversals, he’s safe)
- It takes ages for her to get a fireball on the screen to keep him from headbutting
Basically he wins just by jumping and doing random headbutts
Not too fun
I’m not a Juri player, but can’t she option select her jump-in with her invincible EX pinweheel to beat the EX headbutt? It’s a slow reversal and usually that works against him.
Also randomly throwing out headbutts isn’t foolproof and safe for Honda because regular neutral or back jumps can blow it up pretty bad.
im gonna go with akuma, landing that ex fireball and getting the knockdown
akuma is the only character that greatly capitalizes off fireball KD
at full screen he can just throw 3ball or airball
but yeah, getting hit by ex fireball can quickly escalate to deadly mixups
Guile or Akuma.
Guile because of his recovery and speed (can throw both fast and slow) and Akuma because of air fireballs, non meter multi hit fireballs, and he beats out the 3rd place pick Sagat.
Personally since I like being different, I like Rose’s fireballs and Dan’s. Basically because how slow rose fireball is and what she can do after. This is what gives me such a hard time with fighting her. I say Dan because, I actually use him once in awhile and he can do a lot of things with regular and EX fireballs that not a lot of people know about. Dan again because of the whole distance thing, can make your opponent block longer then they want just because of the distance you throw it.
I’m going to say Sim.
Although Bonchan’s FB game is the best I’ve ever seen.
It’s a common misconception, EX pin isn’t really invul by itself. It loses to a lot of things. EX pin is only invincible if you have Ultra 1 activated.
it is invincible but the problem is that the invincibility doesn’t last to the first active frame (so it’s gonna lose to a lot without U1)
Juri’s EX Senpusha is 7 start-up frames with frames 1-6 being invulnerable. The move is horrible against anything with long active frames or just frame traps in general. Her only reliable option on block against headbutt is LK senpusha but it only deals 40 damage due to the first hit missing. It can be awkward to anti-air Honda as Juri due to his j.mp and that is also why Sakura can be bloody annoying due to anti-air because of her air tatsu and j.fp.
Depends on what you want. In general having the ability to vary your speed is better than just having fast or slow fireballs. Slow fireballs put a threat on the screen for a longer time and often allow the character to follow the fireball and use it as a shield (E.G. Akuma LP Air fireball, Rose/Guile/Deejay LP Fireball) however fast fireballs are mostly used as a long range poke, or a surprise attack. A fast fireball can be more difficult to avoid if the move you use to avoid a fireball isn’t invincible on startup (Cody’s EX Ruffian, Shoto tatsu, Yun/Yang palms).
I really think that taking into account how important is hadouken and cr.mk into hadouken for ryu, the startup should be 1-2 frames faster but… what do you think?
U mad ??
