Where's the best arcade scene in L.A?

Hi guys I’m going to LA next Tuesday until the following Tuesday for the World Cyber Games. I’m going for Guitar Hero but over here in New Zealand I am a huge SSF4 player, so I was wondering where the closest/best arcade to where I’m staying would be. Probably wanna check it out on Friday/Saturday/Sunday night or else try and get some casuals/MMs in with some of the Tekken players (like I know that Ryan Hart will be there).

In terms of the arcade looking for SF4, Marvel, Xmen and 3s I guess.

Can anyone give me tips please? Is this even in the right forum lol?

If you’re staying near LAX and you’re available Friday night between 7pm-4am then comes to my garage. We mainly play SSF4 and some of us play 3S. We play SSF4 on two xbox and two PS3’s. We play 3S on arcade cabinets. I got about 10 arcade cabinets in my garage. We average about 20 ppl depending on the night. Sometimes it could be lively sometimes it could be mellow.

Look up the Don’s Arcade Torrance Thread. That’s me:)

Oh ya there’s also Wednesday Night Fights at Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood. That’s also near LAX. They have a thread on here as well.

I’ll definitely try check out AI sometime, probably Saturday or Sunday night. And thanks for the offer Don, I might take you up on that. I’ll chuck you a PM. I definitely won’t be able to make if it I qualify for top 8 on Saturday though. Wednesday Night Fights sounds really good, too bad WCG starts on Thursday and I leave the next Tuesday. Would be keen for a ranbat if that’s what it is. We usually do our ranbats over here every 2 weeks.

you might want to go to dream lab on tuesdays its not too far and its 5 bucks for all night ssf4 (and by all night i mean till 4 am) alot of top players like valle marn wong if thats what you’re into.
but yeah ssf4 is AI and tekken is like vid94 or super or idk

Where is Dream Lab??? Im in HB down in OC and looking to step foot in an arcade after at least 15 years!!

dreamlab is in arcadia.
its not an arcade its a lancenter with ssf4 setups
but on tuesdays la’s finest show up

You could also go to Alex’s Arcade in Santa Ana, it’s much closer to HB, although it’s kinda iffy whether or not there’s gonna be competition.

Thanks alot for the tips guys, think I’ll try check Dream Lab on Tuesday when I get there cause you guys have convinced me lol and Lvangundy kindly gave me some tips so I’ll try check out AI on Saturday night. Since I’ll probably be out late, what do you guys recommend for transport? Are buses around late at night and does anyone know where I can get a timetable? Or else taxis I guess (but I know taxis are real expensive over here)? And anyone have any good taxi numbers for me to call lol?

If it’s possible and in your budget rent a car because you’ll have to get on the freeway to get where u going for SF. Or if you feel safe enough ask for rides from ppl on srk. Pay them like $5-10 for gas. I heard of some rare cases of people driving them to AI in exchange for gas money.
