Where US players better than JPN in the other XVSF, MVSF & MVC

us players are way better than japanese at madden.

The RC issue was irrelavant to international affairs, any game japan has a scene in they will do well in simply because of their arcades. All that happened was that Japan had RC first so they dominated in the year or two it took our players to catch up.

Just to clear up some things:

  1. What Japan will do should be irrelavant to evo, they obviously don’t play in AE but thats the game for 2006.

  2. At the original time of the ban that Pimp Willy referenced, the american players were the ones calling for the ban, so i doubt american attendance would have been seriously affected. More than likely the ban would have been lifted the next year anyway with PS2 + DC having RC and capcom not releasing a proper fix.

Thanks, nice read.

America is better at Tekken, thats all that matters.

so… why cant you guys just set up a match between tomo and the guy who was tops in japan at the time?

Because tomo doesn’t even play SF anymore.

And nobody seems to know who was top in japan at the time.

These videos are a good reminder of why not to play XSF.

those vids are a good reminder on why the game can be fun. doing slick combos that are only limited to your imagination. game is busted all to hell, but its still a hell of a lot of fun to play

I just wanted to show the skill of the players who IMO are best in their country. At least as far as stick skills are concernd. I’m glade you guys enjoyed them thanks.

Btw that was me vs joker =p

Didn’t Japan come here for a DR tournament and spank us pretty good if I remember correctly? Nor Cal right? Shou came in and beasted pretty much the best of our players with DJ, so if my memory serves me correctly, atm, in T5:DR Japan>USA…well, at least from the turnout of that tournament.

Btw those vids of the XvsSF where great, makes me miss this ver. of Ryu…at least he was playable in XvsSF unlike in MvC2:sad:

I believe he’s refering to the results of Evo last year when we beat them (forgetting if that was only in the 5 on 5 or the actual evo tournament)

Thanks mn. I think we should hve an entier thread of xvs match vids =p

We have also went to Japan a few times and I believe Korea and done really well overall. At least from what Bronson has told me.

Is there any chance you would be able to upload this i would love to see this .

Did evo2k6 change anyones mind on the potitental of the top US players or no? and i know my spelling is shit so no need to correct me

Uhh, don’t these things directly contradict each other?

I guess if Buktooth meant that bas doesn’t play XSF in the sense that Japan doesn’t play Marvel period, then that makes sense. But it sure doesn’t look like bas got outclassed by Huger, who is a legitimate XSF specialist(?).

As far as the whole “according to who” thing goes, IIRC, it was LiquidMetal who said (at B5) that bas was one of the best XSF players in Japan. I do remember specifically asking and receiving that answer (more likely, having that question asked for me) from one of the JP players at either B5 or evo2k2.

japan players are always better than US players. they kick our ass in CVS2, 3rdstrike, alpha 2, alpha 3, ST, Darkstalkers 3, and if possible, the king of fighter series too. we only own them in MVC2 and Tekken 5, other than that, they outnumber us greatly.

US fuckin owns japan in A2.
