Where to Play: Arcades in the PNW

Not really. I am however spreading the word to all my friends (who’re all very interested) but like preppy said in another forum, gathering people for a thing like this is like herding cats, it’s damn near impossible to get them all in one place.

I’m also (still -_-:wink: trying to figure out a place to hold it. Since gameworks is the suck and won’t let us record, and Gametrax’s controls are busted.

Also location has always been the main reasons the tourneys become a dud because I end up at a dead end on where to have it. So I’m open to suggestions on where we could do this at.

But I’m trying as hard as I can to figure out how/when/where we can get this going.

So with that said, any one you know who plays marvel in your area, tell them.

$5 to enter, double elim, 1st.60% of pot, 2nd: 30, 3rd 10 4th gets made fun of.

Any and all help is appreciated in this.

Final Draft (?)

I’m going to TRY to get a MvC2 low tier tourney going some time in February. That’ll give me enough time to do the following:

Find out who all wants to play
Who all CAN play
WHEN I can do it (Date wise)
WHERE I can do it (Arcade/Housing Wise)
And answer any questions I can about it.

So here’s the break down.

This is going to be a 4 point team tourney. Wtf is that you ask? Lemme explain.

Each character (after much thought and practicing) have been broken down in a point structure. Although some were not given points and just flat out banned. The list for the banned characters goes as followed:

THESE CHARACTERS CANNOT BE USED IN THIS TOURNAMENT!
Magneto
Storm
Cable
Sentinel
Cyclops
Captain Commando
Iron-Man
War-Machine
Spiral
Psylocke

Then you get to the next level. The 2 point characters. Which you may only have ONE of since all the other characters not listed in the upcoming category are 1 point characters. (although you may choose not to have any 2 point characters on your team)

2 Point Characters:

YOU MAY HAVE ONLY -ONE- OF THESE CHARACTERS ON YOUR TEAM!
Strider Hiryu
Tron
Ice-Man
Juggernaut
Mega-Man
Rogue
Omega-Red
Cammy
Thanos
Dr. Doom
Black Heart

Now you get to the one point class which is basically everyone else. If you don’t know/can’t remember who all the other characters are, feel free to IM me on E-mail me.

Now so I don’t get any one confused, here is how team structure should go and shouldn’t go.

NON-USABLE TEAM!: Tron/Ice-Man/Ken(1) 5/4 points NOT USABLE!

USABLE TEAM EXAMPLE A!: Akuma(1)/Captain America(1)/Tron (2) 4/4 USABLE!

USABLE TEAM EXAMPLE B!: Akuma(1)/Ryu(1)/Ken(1) 3/4 points USABLE!

I hope that clears everything up for you guys, if not, like I said, PM me on messengers or E-mail me.

Now the ACTUAL RULES!

Buy in: $5 dollars
Tourney type: Double Elimination
Prizes: 1st: 60% of pot, 2nd:30% of pot, 3rd: 10% of pot. 4th: Gets made fun of by places 1-3.
NO GAME BREAKING GLITCHES (I.E. Ruby Heart Freeze Glitch, Infinite Ice-Man Super, Dead Body Glitch…etc…)

I hope this happens and every one will have fun. If the turn out and feedback are good I’ll be holding tournaments after that bi-weekly.

Stuart if you leave Doom and Blackheart unbanned then there’s no point in using anybody else. A person could use BH/insert whoever/insert whoever and do good as BH only needs an assist he can combo inferno, hod with. You should ban those two.

About the ban list since you did ban Psy and Capcom mainly becuase of thier abusable assists, why did Tron escape that judgement?

Stuff like this is alway going to be debatable though, I was just wondering about that. I’m not asking you to change your list or anything.

I think the list is good as it is, but we’ll see what happens at the tournament.
