I think it’s safe if you space it though. But not feeling it being negative 4 and having such crap priority on top of it. Other people c.mk are -4 though, Nash for example. I haven’t been blown up using it, some people did began to punish me if I did c.mk into FB predictable though. They would just jump right over the FB since it’s not a true string. I basically use c.mk like
Seems legit although it’s hard for me to cr.mk at all in the neutral game because alot of ppl have such good normals that go over lows. Them st.mk’s,Nash’s f+hk etc…So I’m stuck thinking about countering those with cr.mp, st hk, hp, mk, stuff like that. therefore I tend to find myself to hardly ever use cr.mk to catch lows too during footsies when st.lk seems just as effective and faster since they both have the same amount of active frames.
So it’s either I do it after kd or after I do a couple jabs on block or something. Basically if I’m in very close range to catch people wanting to stand block.
Man it would be so badass if Ken had some kind of step sweep attack like a variation of jins f, d, df+4 standing sweep from tekken. The theory is to mix it up with kens thunderkick poke game (step in overhead) instead of step in overhead, Ken would do a step in standing sweep that can be followed up with a srk during v trigger…can be very effective during Oki and when ur able to make ur opponent respect u.
That sounds too good even in theory lol. I’d say Ken won’t be changed much. They might buff his Cmk a bit, and maybe speed up his feint thunder kick, it’s really too slow atm…
Other than that…I think small changes like b.mp to 0 on block would make him top 3. Or him getting his 3 hit confirm back c.lk st.lp st.lk. That’s actually at the top of my list.
Feint start up quicker
And c.lk st.lp st.lk back
Step kick -4 on block.
Wish ken had better normals for footsies. Really alot of talk about ken being good but he really has nothing to measure up against the strong fundamental/zoning characters.
Honestly I like him how he is, I just hope he doesn’t get nerfed with all the whining surrounding him. I don’t think he is OP or even top 3, but he is very good.
His 15 frame dash will still be really good, a divekick is still a divekick too.
Ken’s whiff punish game is stupid good. Aside from his fireball/burst movement game he’s designed to be a counter-poker, counterpoking will be way easier to do without the lag
I don’t even think run pressure is all that good even with the 8f delay, but the ken player would definitely have to condition his opponent to hesitate a bit more if it’s fixed. It’s a tool I use maybe once a week anyways.
People will still get shimmied, I don’t understand how shimmies will get nerfed. It will also be easier to react to a whiffed throw, bear that in mind
In the long run, I argue that Ken will benefit more from getting the 8f delay fixed than he will get hurt from it.
