I was wondering if any of you guys know of a local area where you can buy a plexiglass polish/cleaner. I recently got artwork for my qanba arcade stick but the plexiglass was to big. So I bought some sandpaper and sand it down. Now its a little dirty and has a few little scratches. So Does any one know where I can find some at a local store? I don’t want to buy online because of the shipping prices. I live in the US.
novus works, try to see if you can get it locally by asking/checking around some hardware stores
or you could use some extremely fine grit sandpaper and buff out those scratches with that
and by fine grit i mean progressing from 400 grit to 2000 grit
Buying fine sand paper would be cheaper.
test it out on a piece that you don’t like first but i assure you that this does work
novus and other plastic polishes are generally just high grit wetsand paper that washes away
also wetsand it
i almost forgot to say that
sorry I’m new to this. What do you mean buy wetsand it?
usually that means your using water and sandpaper that says “dry and wet sanding” on the package. the water prevents the sand paper from caking with dust as quickly as it would when dry sanding. the water is also a lubricant I guess. using buffing compound for cars is similar to wet sanding but the grit is just floating around in a cream or wax instead of being fixed to a piece of paper. the only way to take the scratch out is to add more smaller scratches. that is why you move to a progressively tighter grit at each step. eventually the scratches are so small that they can not be seen. that is how buffing works. the last step with car paint and windows is something that fill the scratches with clear. windex will leave silicone deposits on glass but professional glass cleaner does not. so windex looks better but it is not %100 a cleaner as much as it is a one-step cleaner + polish. polish does not last. it is not bonded and it is not hard.
alright cool thanks a lot.
