anime be released?
first thing first, someone has to hire us to do the job!
No offense but I’d rather Studio Udon focused on the comic right now until they get to the SF3 arc and someone would animate Masahiko Nakahira’s SF3 Ryu Final manga instead. Now if Studio Udon wants to do an SF3 anime when they finish the comic I’m all for it. To me, both SF Zero/Alpha and SF2 have already had their spotlight in anime, much rather see something based on SF3.
Heh, right now I’d love to see a long running anime series based on Namco x Capcom, but chances of that are zero…
Indeed,
I’d like to see them finish the SF2 arch finish the SF3 arch too. I think the SF3 hasn’t been tackled nearly enough. I’m also wondering if Udon will end up having a crack at translating and publishing the Ryu Final series, I no nothing about a[art from a few tiny pictures here and there. Even that was enough to get me hungry for more.
I pray for the day a Udon-produced, SF3 animated movie is released.
PRAY.
Nightly.
I hope Udon collaborates with Capcom, and actually goes further than SF3, probably following RYU FINAL somewhat. That would do me for SF4.
Eh…I wouldn’t mind a movie based on the Street Fighter comics…like…the first tournament + alpha movie. And then SF2 based on comics, and then SF3 based on comics. That wouldn’t be bad…
And sano, that’s a great idea! Namco X Capcom…long running anime series, or even 26 episodes isn’t bad. I wouldn’t mind a new Street Fighter series altogether though. That follows the comics quite closely (similar to manga translation) and anime it.
And even on the thinking track, filler episodes are funny too, which could encompass Street Fighter Sakura Legends one…ah…so many ideas…
Let us hope Capcom hires them…(along with that stupid rumour of Sf4, but there’s hope).
Yeah man someone animate this! Half the voice work is already done in the game lol!
I agree!
finish off the comics first and THEN do a SF 3 ANIME!
Well ahem at the rate they’re producing the comic, we’d be lucky to see a SF3 anime when we’re all 50.
I’d rather see an Udon produced SF Alpha and SF II movie myself. The SF II Animated was pretty good, but Alpha and V were both pretty bad. SF II movies might have had time in the spotlight, but it certainly wasn’t any GOOD. Also, as I’ve said before, I don’t think the comic really gets enough money for Udon anyway, but a movie probably would. With the profits from the movie, Udon can probably bring us a lot more projects a lot quicker.
maybe in another 20yrs will we see another SF movie. Unless someone here on shoryuken wins the powerball jackpot and goes out and makes a movie themselves.:wonder:
That will be me someday!
You all have to remember, that ahem SFAG did VERY well sales-wise, for Manga. I saw it near the top ten of various anime sales lists in magazines.
Namco x Capcom would be pretty good. For some reason i see a dark stalkers type story for it.
Yeah in the game Saya, the final boss is compared to a Darkstalker by others. Course she isn’t really heh heh!
I want a long running Namco X Capcom series (as sano said)…Capcom and Namco can both fund it and benefit from it. Too bad online petitions never work…except looney tunes…
Not to mention her theme music sounds very similar to Morrigan’s for some reason.
Incidentally, and not that I?m bragging, but my twin copies of Ryu Final arrived in the post yesterday morning. Even without the translation it’s still something of a looker, and it captures the essence of SF arguably better than any other graphic novel I?ve seen thus far.
Since I?m slowly gathering that no known English translation currently exists (and why the hell not? Don?t we know any Japanese speakers here?), I have to settle for asking if Ryu Final was written before 3rd Strike was released? I ask only because I notice the (welcome?) absence of any characters from its updated roster.
That said, I spotted some images therein that bare striking resemblance to those seen in 3rd?s endings, such as Ryu hoisting up a boulder with Oro sitting atop. Did Capcom use these images deliberately in 3rd Strike’s Endings, much as the Animated Movie influenced the design for the Alpha/Zero series?
Yes Goutetsu, Ryu Final was made before Third Strike, chapters came out almost subsequently with Gamest’s coverage articles on 2nd Impact. The second volume at the end shows some rough 3S sketches which pointed to readers that another SF3 was on the way. Nakahira-sensei worked very closely with Capcom in producing his post-Cammy Gaiden SF stories, and Capcom liked his work so much that they’ve incorporated many of his elements into their later titles.
