time stop, which do u prefer checkers or chess?
LOL, that’s funny cause I think DOA is the least fun fighting game I’ve ever played.
Some one also mentioned that VF4 is very accesable to ppl, I agree with that, I own the game and when my buds and I try to get into it we just play SC2 instead.
All these games I got addicted to the first time playing them.
3S <–funnest by far, I love this game
MvC2
CvS2
GG#R
SC3
but the first fighter I ever played??? Super Street Fighter II: Turbo on SNES got me into games in general.
IMO I think that DoA creator Tomonobu Itagaki doesn’t know what makes true fighting games fun, or what makes them standout; he only knows what makes games in general fun for the masses, but not for the fighting game community.
when noob ass bitches start running there fucking mouth? and also when mothafucking fanboi’s start riding top player’s dick.
This guy wins the thread by a landslide.
Needlessly defensive. Think a little before coming at me.
I guess agreeing with you is trolling. I was pointing out how the majority of responses in the beast or not thread talked about enjoying crushing opposition as fast and hard as possible. People like this make games less fun. One of the reasons I don’t play Halo. People that I know are good at it and boring to play against.
This thread in a nutshell: Fighting games stopped being fun when people chose to be stupid.
can i have your autograph? i agree 100%. i know he’s a game designer and he’s japanese (making him god right? lol) but that doesnt make what he says the truth… i hope his spin off game does well and makes him go into adventure game design since he really is missing the boat on what makes a fighting game fun.
he says he doesnt wanna focus on special effects but loads doa with nice eye candy… now he says he’s just adding more “special effects”. yes, doa4 will sell loads to the masses but will anyone be playing that game after the smell of its fresh plastic wrapper disappears… or half those gamers looking for ass and tits get a real gf?
one thing that capcom does well and probably alot better than most fighting companies is the replay value of there fighters… even if sf4 came out tomorrow it wont change the number of players who still play sf2 and sf3 religiously.
My bad, but I thought you were saying something along the lines of “as expected from a scrub,” or something along the lines. Next time, be a little more detailed: this IS SRK, afterall.
This sounds about right.
I have no idea why you guys like 2D games off the bat.
First experience with ST:
Ryu against AI for 45 minutes
Giving up after failing to beat round 4 for the 20th time
First experience with 3s
Playing my friend who was playing Chun
me playing Ken and losing to bullshit like FP all day long and c.MK super.
Also no cool characters that made me want to learn the game.
First experience with CvS2
Shitty sprites and nerfed KOF characters
First experience with MvC2
Being rushed down and losing cause I’d never played a game that fast before
First experience with GG#R
Going fuck yeah I’m learning this game after seeing
- IKs i.e. I-NOs
- seeing I-NO use a guitar
- 20 hit combos
- noticing burst
- going through an epileptic seizure from all the lights and shit
Fighting games stopped being fun when SNK went under (only to be ressurected without most of their talent) and Capcom decided to stop making fighting games (CFJ does not count)
I’m gonna go with the folks in here who have said that it’s never stopped ben fun for me.
And I’ve read a few posts saying how it stopped being fun when folks started being elitist to newbies and the like. I don’t know, those seem to be the minority of the folks I’ve encountered. I’ve seen a lot of people teach others, and have taught others myself, just to get more competition in.
