If Capcom truly does take in feedback given to them from site than I can easily see why they’ll think a lot criticism is fanboy whining as that’s exactly what it is. Unity is the cesspool of shit. There isn’t enough legit constructive enough that goes through that place.
capcom hasn’t made a good street fighter since 1996. shit’s pretty frown, and that’s the only thing i’ll say about them
Well, they already made the best fighting game, so I dont care what they bring in the future
Bionic Commando and Dark Void are some of the better games published by Capcom, and they weren’t even developed by them. I think that says a lot.
Most of the great Capcom developers that made all of our favorite games aren’t with the company anymore. The only team with any talent left at Capcom is the DMC3 team, who put out Dragon’s Dogma last year. That’s it, and I’m pretty sure that team has also lost developers as well since DMC3.
They outsource all their shit, and the games they actually made in-house this gen are the RE games and DMC4(loved this game, btw.) This hurts them imo, because if the following games were made by them, they would’ve been a lot different, for better or for worse:
SFIV series(developed by DIMPS)
DmC(Ninja Theory, mass salt)
Bionic Commando(Grin)
Dark Void
RE: Operation Coon City(Socom devs I believe)
etc. etc. They put 100’s of people to work on a single game(RE6) and the vision of that game suffers because of it, imo. They should chop up those dev teams into smaller, more focused ones, and that way, they can potentially make more games that are more focused. I still enjoy some of their games, which is why I still buy them, especially when they’re sub-20 bucks after a few months. Fuck it.
Obviously you’re talking about Street Fighter 1 and Street Fighter Alpha 1, yeah?
I’m guessing you can’t find what you’re looking for in current-gen games(look harder) or you’re now broke and poor. It’s okay, I am currently the latter, but I have a pretty serious backlog.
don’t forget capcom outsourced tvc and mvc3 to eighting as well
X-men vs. Street Fighter is a great game.
I know right…
The company is full of money hungry lying assholes.how many times have they released a game with hidden files on it.SF4 (had thawk and Deejays voices) (MVC3) (SFxTK)
Unless I’m a Capcom employee, I don’t give much of a shit about their decisions or whatever. As long as I like the games they’re churning out, then it’s fine with me.
The industry has changed because the world has changed. Business is business and it’s bigger than ever before. Our opinions do not matter as much as we’d like to think they do. Just enjoy what life you have and don’t waste your time and energy being angry at everything.
So long as Street Fighter Never plays like MK I can’t hate them too much.
I’m going to resist certain urges.
When you are looking to buy a new car, you don’t buy a car just because of the brand. You compare it to other models in its class. So for me, I look at things very differently. I have never and never will care about a video game company as a whole. People want to talk about hte old days with Mega Man and SF2, but those were two different type of games, by two different groups of people making them - they simply fell under the same umbrella - Capcom.
So for someone to sit back and blast the video game company is idiotic. If you want to rally against, say the new Dante…thats legit. If you have quarrels with SF4 - that’s legit. But people who attack the company as a whole are frankly - idiots. The only time its justified is when there is a systematic issue. When toyota was fuckin up brake pedals - it was on like 2/3 of their models…it called into play Toyota the brand - and justifiably so. So if you want to rally against Capcom for DLC on disc - something they’ve been consistent on go for it, have fun, be back in time for dinner…but is there really anything else to compain about the company as a whole? Are there any other game studios worth talking about? I always here about specific games, so I dunno why Capcom gets singled out.
Now moving past the flaw in all this…
People need to get over on disc DLC. Now if you want to rally against the cost of DLC, I’ll be on the line with you. I look at SFxT, I almost bought it for my Vita, but when I saw how much all the add-ons were - where it ran parallel to the cost of the fucking game, then I had a problem, and subsequently closed PS Home or whatever its called. But the concept of it I’m fine with. People act as though ignorance/hiding something makes it better…like if Capcom just left it on a server somewhere - waiting - it would be better. I can go alot longer with the DLC thing but I’ve done that previously and don’t feel like regurgitating the same stuff. Just know there is justificatoin to it being on there ‘besides’ money grab.

They stopped making Rival Schools games.
They no longer exist in my eyes.
Power Girl made this thread epic.
Short version: I hate their corporate fuckery. They hire really good 3rd party developers like Dimps and add shit that dumbs the game down. Just let the devs do their job and keep the stupid gimmicky kawaii racial stereotype ott “comic” nonsensical story bullshit out of the games.
When did people start to care about Power Girl anyways? Did she like whore it up sometime after Doomsday? Before that time frame no one gave two flying monkey shits about her.

I’d rather like a post of a pic of a real chick with giant tits VS a pic of a fucking drawing with giant tits.

The funny thing about the SFxT debacle is that if you’re going to do that many DLC characters, they almost have to be on the disc. How else are you going to get them to consumers? 12 characters is a bit too much for an update pack over Live/PSN. Sell a new disc version of the game (Super SFxT?)…but people were already tired of that with Super SFIV and Ultimate MvC3. And those 12 DLC characters would be worthless unless the data for them was on the console of everyone playing the game, regardless of whether or not they were interested in buying the character. On-disc is the only solution that makes sense for both the company and the consumer.
The bigger question is - should characters in a fighting game be DLC? Especially 12 of them? But none of the outrage seemed to be directed at that issue.
And DmC…yeah. My feelings on that are known I think.
