The stage reminds me of the final boss of EarthBound. It also gives a lot of flesh and blood (no pun intended) to Jedah’s “plan” for the beings in Darkstalkers.
Yeah, I think they could get away with it if they wanted to. I just think Capcom themselves, would think it’s a step too far. A skinless baby with an exposed brain? Don’t let the baby throw a tantrum. “Eyes! Eyes, everywhere!” Thoust cup overflows with nightmare fuel.
how is that? All I’m seeing is a bunch of fat people.
Honestly, KoF’s backgrounds make me want to puke most of the time. I liked how in '99 everyone in the background pretty much didn’t even know you existed
My own favorites are the spectator-less stages.
Samurai Shodown 1-3: all of them ,especially Genjuro’s field in part 2.
My favourite fighting game stage is the one where you gradually realize that you’ve been throwing away years of your life playing these games and that, despite what you’ve been telling yourself this entire time, those games are not at all any more important or meaningful in any way than any other kinds of video games, and it becomes painfully apparent to you that you could have instead devoted all or even any amount of that time and energy towards doing any number of actually productive activities that would have bettered your life or the lives of others, and you begin to feel terribly depressed about this, and stupid and guilty and gullible, and you really strongly think about just quitting right now and giving all of this up for good and leaving all of this behind and actually going on to accomplish things that actually matter in the real world, but deep down inside you know you can’t because this is the only thing you have in your life that brings you some small measure of happiness. And that’s what you remember that this is your escape, your escape from everything else in life, and it has always been, and you are a waste of flesh, and you will always remain worthless, and you will be trapped in this pointless cycle forever.

I also like levels where there are people dancing in the background.

3S - Akuma, Makoto, Ibuki stages
SSBM () - Final Destination <— Probably the most unique stage in Melee because of the lack of terrain changes… Ironically unique…
It’s good to see somebody else pinpoint MvC2’s most retarded shit all together. That clown stage was the point where me and my friend looked at each other, didn’t say a word, and walked back to the SF3 machine.
