What's the point of his ducking move?

I use ducking to go through fireballs and projectiles, but I watch videos of pro players using it constantly. I don’t know why they utilize it so much. Doesn’t it leave you vulnerable? Can someone give me some insight on how and why to use ducking?

Maybe as a more flexible forward dash replacement? Dudley’s not great at advancing so ducking might come in handy, bit of mixup since he can do the dashing straight or the uppercut afterwards… some reasons that might be applicable anyway. It’s pretty much superior to his forward dash at least.

To move forward while being a threat (suddenly EX Duck Upper vs a jump-in f.ex)

It’s also one of Dudley’s only ways to break focus with a P, and is safe on block.
