That looks like the best and most innovative fighter ever. Who was top tier in that? The green fluffy ball? He seemed solid.
So I see you saying you didn’t like the character designs which leads to my follow up comment. I don’t think I could ever play a game with furry characters. I see people saying it’s not furry but seriously there are at least 10 ways they could have animated those characters and not made them look like furry anime. If they had used darker colors and sharpened the features and I would have been way more disappointed this wasn’t coming out, I know that part was probably way out of your control but anyways it’s cool you got to code on a game even if it never makes it out of development hell, any other games you have coded on?
Does that really exist? Now correct me if I’m wrong, cause I’m not that knowledgable about this subject, but I thought “furry” hardly existed in Japan(unless you count the occasional catears on a chick…) and kinda something originating from america or europe.
Not to get into an argument about semantics, but I’ve never heard of a furry anime.
Anyway, it’s not like the characters are gonna have sex right there in the game or something. I don’t see any problem with antrophomorphic(man, that’s a tricky word) characters, even though personally the character design in this game does not appeal to me. From the few vids I’ve seen, no one character seemed all that cool.
I mean… It’s not like we’re gonna stop using squidmonsters in games because some weird people enjoy tentacle porn (Not that I condemn them for it mind you, I just personally find it a bit… icky. So I look the other way).
I guess my point is… I don’t see why this game catches flames for sins it does not commit. Unless I misunderstand and it’s the very notion of an antrophomorphic character that just pisses people off, for some odd reason.

Japan had a ‘furry’ culture long before we did. Kemono art is kind of a historical thing too and can be traced back pretty far.
Having said that, there isn’t actually much ‘furry anime’ in existance, so I don’t know wtf you people are on when you go about shouting how it’s overdone or unoriginal or whatever. Because if you compare the amount of fighting games with anthro characters as opposed to fighting games with dull human characters, you’ll see that there’s literally piss all.
The only furry animes I can think off the top of my head are like…Zorori and…that one with Kogenta. (and Catshit One if you count that as anime).
Even in the western fandom, the anime style isn’t even all that popular. You mostly only see it when Jap artists make accounts on the artsites for publicity or whatever. Most furry artists use this crap style that looks like disney or some ugly shit like that. Fuck.
Monster’s character designs could be flashier, but they’re pretty wholesome kemono at base level. There are even two human-like characters in the game as well who seem thrown in there just so that people wouldn’t bash the game too much for being furry. I mean that is just sad shit.
