Well, I bit the bullet and finally bought SF4 a few weeks ago. I have to agree with Cameron on this one, the physics just don’t feel as right as 3S. It almost feels like a mix of SF2 and MK. It’s still fun, but I miss 3S. Plus I don’t have a stick for the 360 and the dpad on that controller… well I don’t really have to say anything do I?
Oh, hi BTW, out of 3 of the last pages on here I recognize only TrueKarate. How is the scene in Omaha now? I haven’t played 3S in forever… since the last time I was at your house Cam, probably.
I see a few names from Lincoln, that’s where I’m at still. And yes, there have been no true arcades since WC Franks at East Park closed down. That closed shortly after 3S came out. Pitty, I loved that place. There was a time that laser tag place on 70th and O had Tekken TAG. Shortly after I found that place I found FFC (thank god!) and gave up on Lincoln arcades altogether.
If anybody can hook me up with a 360 stick (custom or otherwise), I would be happy to compensate them.
A couple questions: Can you play 3S online through the 360? If so, does anybody still play it online?

Some pretty good games last night. Would have liked to stay to the end to see how it would have turned out but I had to be up early to get to work in the morning.

Gotta say this was probably the most fun Omaha trip I’ve had, that tourney was a blast and tons of hype to go around. Sorry for scrubbing it up real bad at the end but damn you guys are good :tup:

Hey how u been Brian? Good to see somebody feels me. 4 is crap man. Man shatterstar 3rd strike was way more balanced than u think. How many times u c me beast on Ken with ANY character? Chun was a lil pain n the ass but Dud,Mak,Urien,Alex,Hugo,and the twins do well against her. I dont see alot of characters beat’n Ryu,Gief,or Sags in 4 man. I havn’t even see a combo over 3 hits unless it a special move or a super in that game.
No offense to the srubs n shit that play 4, but I never lost to scrubs in ANY streetfighter until this one. No matter how new the game is! Yall might not know me but I won about 50 3s tournaments using random characters against very good players so…I know wtf I’m talking about. Fireball fireball uppercut game play dosn’t work on me in real streetfighter games. lolz. Where were u guys when CvS2,ST and 3s, and Alpha 2 and 3 were being played? U have no idea how unstreetfighter like 4 plays.:sad:

I’m fuckin’ wit’ you, lol. But who were the mains in SF4? Ryu, Geif, Sags, and Civic[Honda]. Plus, this is still Omaha, man. we wont start seeing those top tier characters knocked out by mid’s till maybe a fuckin year from now, we[I most definitely] need to get better at playing in general. just give that part time. ‘member when people was sleepin’ on Yun? wasn’t I the one point out to how sick he was before everybody and that momma’s step brother wanted use him when all they used was Denjin Ryu?! yea. I would’nt be surprised if I saw those same people who were complete garbage wanting to use Civic and Dhalsim IF someone was to win a tourney.
well, for one, we’re mostly scrubs at this game. Jap Play has more shyt but when it comes to combos, IMO, this shyt is really old school but with a super/ultra crutch. Also, Mario’s Gen was nice with the combos but it seems to me that combos aint shyt, damage wise, unless you combo into super/ultra or do that all by itself. take Fei’s chicken wing loop. that shyt’s damage stops after the 2nd or 3rd time you do Fei’s chicken wing. same goes for Boxer’s raging uppercut loop. it looks nice but the damage stops after like the 6th hit. Ono put some serious damage scaling on SF4 especially after seein how HD came out… but forgot about everything else he wanted scrubs to start playing and actually winning a few rounds here and there.
true, and I feel you on that. my third match I almost lost to a scrubby Sagat based on him somehow gettin me with an ultra which was full and took 45% of my health when I had just a lil’ less than that left. Now, if I had been eliminated by that guy instead of “Kenshiro” and David, which I already knew their “history” in gaming, I’d mite said fuck playin’ SF all together. I would’ve gave Kenshiro a harder time if had found that damn controller in time, but I just gave the match to David since it was a give-me-win in the first place. I mean seriously, I’ve never beat dood in any game we’ve played in. period.
to me SF4 is not as flashy and just raw as 3s just more overly dramatic with the “cinema” put in the middle of the matches. also, I never knew yaw was that serious back then when I/we were in high school in the late 90’s early 00’s [back when I first met you and Butch at Jolly Time when he first whooped my ass in Marvel with Strider/Doom which I had no clue about that shyt]. plus my timing was bad. I always would come to the arcade at like 6-7pm on a saturday but yaw would’nt show up till like 10:30 but I would have to catch that last bus home, lol. yea, I was wonderin the same thing when I saw like 40+ people in/at the tourney but only 15 people were good [and I wasn’t one of them], lol.
I’m just saying…nothing personal but that game sucks. Fei Long should not be that hard to use. His rekkas just stop in the middle of doing them sometimes. Then u gotta work hard to land em again. His command grab sucks. They give u like a split sec to hit em after he lands it or else they can block. His Ultra dosn’t juggle. And its hard to combo it in. While Sags and Ryus are just doing streetfighter 2 shit with no risk. They Ultras hit almost off of anything. I mean Fei wasn’t that hard to use in ST now all of a sudden he his. But Sagat,Gief,Ryu sure are still easy to use. They didn’t change them much. Cant believe I’m forced to use characters I dont wanna use to beat scrubs. Just a dumb game for newbs. I’d rather play DOA with Maurice,or get killed in Halo over n over on hang em high, or play fight night round 3 with welter weights, or watch Golf, or special olympics,or the WNBA,or look at the giant arcade machine outside than play sf4!
I’d rather watch the computer play MK vs DC. Or the Mexicans play old KOF games. U get the point.
