What you want to see happen to viper in SSIV

You can combo off of her light and medium Seismos, the same as comboing off of EX. They just don’t bounce quite as high for juggle.

One thing I’d like to see: Why does the timing for EX Seismo > SJ BK > Ultra have to be so wierd at midscreen? I want that to be so easy I don’t have to think about it.

Really, the only things I want are a faster sweep, and for the ultra to not go all the way through if it whiffs

I say they should change the priorities of the EX TK and make it similar to the HP TK except it has a lot more invincibility frames on the way up (kind of like Ryu’s EX SRK).

I say they should slightly increase the blast radius of her initial Seismo, and also increase the range of the remaining kicks so that the rest of the hits don’t whiff. It’s funky how the midscreen ultra combo doesn’t even work on another Viper, either.

So wait…do you guys want like…legit buffs or you want your character to be stupid?

Ok legit stuff as follows

Buffs

  • Reduce recovery on EX BK. This way she isn’t so free on wake-up.

OR

  • Make fierce TK fully invincible.

Viper needs a legit weakness guys and she is a momentum queen. When she gets knocked down I don’t think she should be free, but she needs to have some holes i nher wake-up cuz otherwise…well wtf does her opponent get for working so hard to get in her face and not get knocked down?

So can have slightly better footsies why not. Her normals ain’t nothing to write home about. But I think her weak wake-up is justified.

Why is it so bad that Viper can’t usefully do a wakeup attack in certain situations? It’s not like she’s gonna take guaranteed damage from it. It just means she’s getting mixed up, like she does to every character when she’s attacking them.

Yeah she would be totally broken if she had her HP TK invincible and her EX BK have lower recovery… suuurreeee dude.

Considering what she can do to someone else’s wake-up it seems fitting for her to have to work to get back on even footing when she loses it.

As of right now she has many wake-up tools. Each has flaws but she certainly isn’t free on wake-up.

What are you talking about? Making HP TK fully invincible wouldn’t make her broken at all. It doesn’t do much damage, it isn’t SRK and jumping attack can beat it out if timed. And it doesn’t take much to get in Viper’s face and knock her out, she’s got pretty low stamina. All we’re asking is that it can’t be grabbed.

I’m not complaining at all.

And Viper has all the tools to take down Sagat, but this isn’t about that.

Sagat has his legit weakness and I would never try to take that away from him. I would never say buff Sagat’s footsies. That would be stupid as fuck.

The chick already wins/does well in tournies.

Each has it’s weaknesses but she can mix it up really well with many different options.

That said a fully invincible TK wouldn’t be so bad.

Sagat can still do option select low short on her wake-up all fuckin day.

lol, as long as Sagat and Zangief are in this game they can buff the fuck out of every other character and it would still only change those bad match ups by +1 if they are lucky.

As for serious changes to her, the FP TK start up frames being invincible is a must. Its total bullshit getting thrown out of that in multiple situations, not just wake up.

While I think making her EX BK recovery just as good as her normal BKs would be a nice bonus, I don’t think its that critical. I can see this being hella useful against Gief though.

Her normals are subpar, but that’s okay. A few tweaks to the hit boxes would be nice, like FMR mentioned her standing MK is utterly useless 99% of the time. Nothing major really needs to be changed here.

Giving her ultra a radial effect on the opening burst would eliminate a lot of the work and risk trying to land it. I know she has a fuckton of ways to land it and that should be good enough, but it changes so much depending on what move you are using to connect it off and what character that every match needs conscious adjustments. This is just tedious considering how easy mode most ultra links are.

lol once again though, Change this games non-existant blockstun and I think Viper fits perfectly just like she is. If not, the FP TK is the most important change that needs to happen for her.

And lol @ claw being free on wake up. I’m sure thats exactly what Tokido and Ojisan boy were thinking before they got peaced out.

Probably countless. So don’t just single out one example as proof that Claw isn’t free when hes knocked down.

What it does have advantage on hit doesnt it? She can go for a throw, backdash, jump or normal burn kick? At the right range or on counterhit you can just link something after it… I dont know what more you want than that.

Magus already covered it but i REALLY just want her c.mk to be better and IMO the guts system fucks low health characters. Its so obvious all the high health characters are tournament consistent because of it, I’d like either +50 health or guts system changed: ] Everything else is fine

What to change about Viper? Her low health? She can destroy an opponent in a blink. Her bad recovery after seismo? That is why she has feints. No, no, Viper is already great the way she is.

In my opinion, she only has 2 real weak points:

  • an almost useless FA :crybaby:
  • no good moves to get out of wake-up games without meter (which she already needs for offensive purpose) :crybaby:

Viper is so much fun the way she is. I wouldn’t like capcom to boost her too much. I’d be more than happy if she comes back with a brand new FA, period. And yes, new cloths would be nice too :party:

Claw is the most free character on wake up I’ve seen in a fighting game in a long time. No other way to put it…dude gets out of wake up the gods are calling or he did seriously good blocking.

I’ve seen plenty of Claws get out of nasty wake-ups with :l: + :3k:

Well if they’re not in the corner or within crouching jab range…yeah. Once they get into a corner against anyone mashing jab (especially a Rog) it’s good games. Any Claw player who gets out of a corner against a Rog player is cheating.

If a Claw does any backflip vs a Ryu or a Sagat that’s a free Tatsu/kara knee/kara TU/ sweep. Shit isn’t hard to react to.

Claw might get lucky once or twice but more often then not his face meets the floor once again.
