yeah i would def get 2001 just to have it but like they said 98 and 2003 are my fav’s and 203 is my choice for the best by far but i really wouldnt mind having 2001 anyways so just get it

Yeah though 2001 is what many consider to be the most hated KOF…

that leads to another discussion…why do you guys feel like 2001 is the most hated KOF??

My thoughts-the music, game feels rushed, didnt like the 1 guy 4 striker sysytem, felt too much like MVC2.

I did love the fact that Kula had an infinite combo, she needs that shit back in XI…haha (Not as if she AINT ALREADY TOP TIER)

Ummm…Extra mode fuckin’ sucks in KOF '98. It was kinda decent in KOF '97, though.

I’ve heard about infinites in KOF '98, but from the looks of it, the timing and the set-up are almost milimetrical. Not very useful in actual gameplay. :wonder:

KOF 2002 has ABC, too.

  • Super cancelling was easily retarded.

  • May Lee breaks the game as much as WW Guile. She is prone to freeze the game at any given time. :mad:

  • Heidern being a motion character instead of a charge character. Too fuckin’ broken! :mad:

  • Gameplay that resembles CvS ratio system.

  • Some pretty retarded infinites

  • Game feels like a very sloppy job overall

Random presentation notes:

  • Graphics are more grainy and pixelated than ever.

  • Music is mediocre.

  • Some character portraits are goddamn ugly.

  • Igniz is the most retardingly cheap KOF boss you’ll EVER meet.

Neowave, 98, 2k2, others.
Why bother with an outdated 2k2 when you can play Neowave? 2k2 is just full of the same retarded max combos, where Neowave at least diversifies it somewhat with its groove system. It looks nicer, feels a bit nicer, but still has its own set of problems. Its an uphill battle against top tiers, but its not completely fucking retarded like it is in 2k2. It feels a lot more like '98 than anything previously.
And '98 is broken, where everyone is pretty fucking broken and it feels like a fun, solid game.

I remember when Neo Wave was supposed to have like almost every KOF character ever…lets hope if there is a Neo Wave II(For SNKS next hardware COMING VERY SOON FOLKS) that The Boss Team returns and we can choose the alternate versions of the characters (2k3 DuoLon vs. picking reg Duo HAHAHAHAHA maybe he’ll get the HSF2 AE O. Sagat treatment)

Question guys…with Neo Wave do you think they will actually continue to have 2 DREAM MATCHES (one every 4 years PLUS A NEO WAVE UPDATE) or Stick to one discontinue NeoWave (using it only as the test it was made to be)

How is 2k2 more balanced then 98? And the infinites in 98 are retarded impossible to do in a real match. Athena, Billy, and Choi rule 2k2. As in 98 the cast as much more going for it as a whole. And i forgot about Neowave, that a good one too. I want to play Xi so bad. I even got my first team picked… Ozwald, Duck King, Shen Woo!!!

P.S. I will never pick Kula in Xi cuz shes a hoar…

2k3 isnt a bad game, its just not as good as 98/2k2/neowave.

get 2003, Duolon is a minus but unless youre playing expert players all the time it really doesnt matter.
The only thing 2003 is lacking in is roster which XI sorted out, If your more the merry type person get neowave.

98 and 2k2 are the only playable ones.

Ignore the rest of the series, it’s garbage. Complete trash. I didn’t play XI yet, but I’m not holding my breath. It’s based on 2k3 after all.

BTW, if you’re planning to play KOF competitively, get ready for a lot of bullshit. Yeah you get that in every game, but the difference is that KOF’s bullshit takes little or no skill at all. Certain characters can be played on auto pilot, and grapplers are beyond gay.

I’m pretty sure KOF is designed for the casual audience, like DOA.
