What were your most highly anticipated fighting game console ports of all time?

Street Fighter IV.

Samurai Shodown 3. It looked beautiful, was designed by (then) famous artist Aoi Nanase, and it had great ideas (on paper). I still play from time to time. It’s still a good single player game, just not a competitive game. Yall know how playing GGX felt like watching anime unfold on screen? Well, for me, this game also gave that shock factor.

Super SF2- (Genesis)- Played it to death.

Tekken 3 - I loved Tekken 2 when I played it in 97 and was blown away by TK3 on PSX.

MKT- Just amazed at the large character roster.

MKA- Was so exicited about the game only to be letdown hard.

MvC2- Lived up to the hype.

VF4- Same as MvC2.

TK4- Did not live up to hype.

damn this brings back memories LOL well here’s a couple I remember no specific order
Street fighter 2 turbo for snes bison was a pain in the ass to beat when I was 10
Mortal kombat 2 snes
Marvel super Heros I thought it was dropping on snes I was smoking crack I ended up borrowing my boys ps1 version it’s not arcade perfect but I would still cop again!
Alpha 3 for ps1
Tekken 3 I cut school to go get that shit!
Street fighter 3 when double impact came out for dreamcast I hugged the system LOL
Third strike DC
Marvel vs Capcom 1
Xmenvs street fighter which I thought would be perfect for ps1 lmao
Marvel vs Capcom 2
And now I’m waiting on sfiv, tatsunoko vs Capcom, kofxii, and sthdremix

Mortal Kombat 2 for SNES - the commercials on WWF Raw got me so mad hype and the articles in EGM that I couldn’t believe I was playing it at home when they finally released it.

Tekken Tag for PS2. The major graphic overhaul and the fact it was Tekken made we wait 10 hours in line to be the first to own a PS2.

And now SFIV - February will feel so long to get here. Honestly I haven’t been this excited for a release since MK2 and Tekken Tag.

CvS2 on xbla with ggpo netcode would be too good. Fuck EO.

SNES SF2 for sure.
I picked up the videogame magazines on that time to copy in my book all the pictures involded SF, like Ken’s shoryuken, hadouken etc.

I remember when my father told me to keep it in safe because it was $70 dlls!! Man, I don’t remember a game with that price even these days.

I played it till my fingers got crushed literally, but the time for boring came and I changed it in a local market for Fatal Fury (SNES).
My father went nuts after that.

Marvelous the 3rd.

If I were your father, I would have fuckin’ killed you! :arazz:

MKT - they got like EVERYONE from mortal kombat.

MSH for psx - loved the game in my arcade and as soon as the game came out, i rushed there bought it and playing it straight for months. i was a tad disappointed about the slowdown

XvSF for psx - same feeling i had with msh, loved the game in the arcade. since it was released in japan earlier, i knew someone with a hk silver copy and burnt it. the game was crack.

mvc2 - the game was fuckin crack! i played the shit out of it for years. when the game first came out, i’ve played it like 8 hours straight a day for like half a year and maybe even more. i registered on srk because of it.

kofxi - i loved kof2003 and was hyped about kof11. i spent TONS of money in the arcade back then but couldnt really improve since theres a whole lot of shit i didnt understand. (i’m a technical kind of guy) i had theories about making shit work in the game and how to improve but no training mode to practice my said combos and theories didnt do me any good in the arcade. as soon as kofxi came out, i played it for hours and hours straight for like 3 weeks, maybe more. i got good pretty damn quick after the game came out for ps2.

upcoming sf4-
i feel the same way about street fighter 4 about kofxi although i’m not as hyped up about it. i feel i cant improve quickly enough playing in the arcade since half the shit in the arcade still makes no sense to me. i can’t wait till the home version comes out so i can test my combos, techniques and theories like i did in kofxi.

upcoming st: hd-
i can’t wait to try out the new fei long. easier execution on his rdp flame kick and chicken wing kick seems really really fun.
