What were you expecting for a SFV at $60?

I expected to pl… dun dun

I expected a game closer to 3rd strike than SF4.
I expected a solid online play.
I expected to be GOLD right from the getgo. Instead floated in Bronze for weeks!

I did not expect to have Arcade mode. I mean who in the post-modem era plays that anymore???!

I expected to be able to play online correctly and have fun and I wasn’t disappointed. Though the fact I paid a lot less than 60$ might’ve helped me being more happy about the game.
The only thing I think it really should’ve been there from the beginning were the tutorials and the challenges because they help a lot get into the game. And I believe that Targets should be there as soon as possible to make more people have a reason to play the game regularly.

I expected at least 100 hours of entertainment. I got that and it’s still going strong and I expect it to for several years.

A+

I was expecting old Capcom games to be playable on the cfn through using fight money to purchase.

Call of duty that space thing is 60 bucks and comes bundled with a remaster of cod4. People will buy the new cod just for cod4.

Is that worth 60 bucks?

Yes, more so than sfv as is now even if cod is an instant gratification shooter they know how to keep customers interested.

definitely missing ARCADE Mode…plus the chance to change your fighter id? is there a thread on that already?

Puttin’ a like on your comment, and puttin’ a reply for your avatar - lookin’ hot, my friend! If you don’t nail her, I will!

Even Tutorial was shown as a full, real “mode” in this poor excuse of a trailer.

I was expecting a fun game, I got it

was expecting a great 1vs1 fighting game with good online play that allowed me to unlock content by playing the game. I’m very happy so far.
I really couldnt care less about single player experience except challanges which Im very happy they added, allthough they are so much easier than in SFIV. If I wanted single player content I would play friggin anything but a fighting game. Playing arcade mode is something you do untill the next player joins thats it :stuck_out_tongue:

Sagat

Rookies.
The trick is patience.
Then you buy the disc.

Ah game that played at fast as it seems when your on offense and on defense. I rather play just my opponent not the lag making sure i get crush counters or jumpins.

Also never liked the fact that this game seems to have very little community support compared to street fighter 4.

I will never be able to get the hang of this game because the whole game doenst make sense to me.

I expected a complete street fighter experience. As all street fighter games before had provided.

I basically didnt read much about SF V before its release, so got a bit suprised by the lack of single player and the need to be online to earn fight money (which also makes loading times worse).

I do enjoy the game, but it still feels lacking, even after all the updates. And is it just me, or did you connect faster in SF IV when playing online? Feels like Im spending more time searching and connecting then actual playing.

yes. waiting for all the different screens to load is really a problem with this game. matchmaking and getting into actual games was way faster in SF4.

You expected the game to be closer to 3S than SFIV what you got was a game that was closer to SF1 with laggy controls and wonky hitboxes.

We do agree mostly then.

An arcade version is for Japan, but if you can sell a few thousand units in the States or other parts of the world that’s cool too. My buddy arcade opporator here would have gladly bought 6 of them and set them head to head. He toyed around with the idea of making his own SFV cabinets before just saying f it. Arcades have made a comeback but they are yes mostly classic but you’d be surprised at how many locations are starving for new games.

This is a missed opportunity IMO if you look at how well pinball is doing right now. Dave N Busters locations alone I know would have bought a good amount of units. Arcade machines have always been a low volume, big margin business even in the heyday, and they’ve also always been woefully mismanaged in the US… Anyways…

Diago expressed this himself. Without an arcade version, Japan ignores the game, less good Japanese players no community there, we all suffer. Again when I was talking arcade version I primarily meant overseas and of course arcade games cannot make enough money alone but it’s extra revenue, and it makes sense for a game like this. It doesn’t make sense for a game like Angry Birds consequently IIRC there are Angry Birds arcade machines I think (I know Fruit Ninja has an arcade version so it wouldn’t surprise me).

I can also guarantee you that had an arcade version been made the game would not have had 8f of lag and laughable hitboxes. That would have been front and center issue in the first location test.

Anyways. I don’t care if this statement comes off cocky, I’m just going to say it. I should have put my career on hold and pursued capcom myself. Had I known things would get this bad I’d have made it my mission. Peter and whoever else was responsible have completely and utterly failed following a risky and frankly stupid strategy of not understanding the business or product and jumping on every stupid trend in the industry and shoehorning it into a Street Fighter product. Christ I wouldn’t be surprised if the next Street Fighter is a free mobile app that sells the users personal data for profit and bombs just as spectacularly.

(Not that SFV is a bomb but Capcom cannot be happy with the performance thus far).

Hit boxes would have been the same, just some of the bigger issues like Ryus j.lk and Necalli s.lp been dealt with. Otherwise the hit boxes are a clear design intention

More like a clear sign of an inept design team.

Easy example for the OP question:

http://escapingworkforce.weebly.com/uploads/6/9/5/0/69507043/kof-xiv.png

$60 worth of fighting game at launch.

$30 worth of fighting game at launch that charged people $60.

If the titles on these games were reversed KOF would be getting SHIT ON harder than Cartman’s mom in German cinema for its “lack of content” and for being “overpriced” and dozens* of other things that are factually issues with SFV. Anyone that denies this is a fucking liar. No if’s, and’s or buts. Straight up liars.

*yes this is an exaggeration for any of the overly literal fucktards that are going to jump on it to say “Dozens?! Name them! NAME THEM!” like an autistic tantrum
