What type of stick is in the PDP stick?

I’m not looking to replace it, because I think it works really well, but in case something breaks, I would like to know what part to order?

It’s Suzo Happ. Although there’s some debate as to the exact parts used. It’s a Happ Competition stick. There’s talk about how a company called iL makes similar but superior parts these days. Former front page article about it here:

Any Happ or IL stick will work, they all mount exactly the same.

imo Happ sticks are still more than good enough to suit most people’s needs, but yes, IL’s sticks are generally better quality.

The PDP uses what I will call “China Happ Competitions”

From the 1990’s till about sometime in the early 2000’s Happ used to import iL Eurosticks and then rebranded them, “Happ Competitions”. It was about 2003-2006? I don’t know the exact year, that they started to manufacture clones in China that where inferior in quality. The early China clones where absolutely horrible, but the newer ones are now kind of decent. Even then they never felt the same as the original iL manufactured Happ competition.

So if you are looking for the joystick that was most likely used on a UMK3 cabinet (or Kabinet) you would probably get a iL Competition.

Another tidbit, of info, In a MK1 or MKII cabinet, or SFII World Warrior there is a good probability that you might have played that game with a Happ Super, or ultimate, but the Super and ultimate are considered to be an inferior stick to the Old iL Happ competition.
