“I have a life. All you do is play this game. You can’t play no other games. I don’t practice. This game is ass. You do scrubby shit”
Shit a scrub would say.

Well a valid excuse would be something like “this is an 8-2 matchup, not surprising that I lost”. Now this doesn’t mean the player that lost didn’t try to learn the matchup and is being a scrub…just many times even if you know the matchup, it can be hard to win, even if the opponent is inferior to you.
“no stomps feet your a scrub!”
see how easy it is
random strats that work arent that random
there is no rule in the game that says
dont do this because the probability is high that it will not work
if you lose to it.
hold that shit.
as long as moves are deliberate
you seem to like to assume.
calling me a scrub and defining it as that.
where do i exclaim any of that in my previous post.
its wrong to assume so if you are going to make a more competent post to me
refrain from doing that.
if you are being “randomed” out
you are as good as you think. period
if you so good
then why did you lose to it
Depends on the reason why the moves are done. Sometimes they are deliberate but for the wrong reason, but hit for some other reason that the player doing it wasn’t even thinking about
Different metagames, didn’t have enough time to adjust to the opponent’s (inferior) metagame. Top players get randomed out from time to time and a lot of them believe that they got randomed out. Doesn’t mean they are scrubs or that they aren’t that good.
Like for instance, I’ve been on multiple 20 win streaks in ranked in P4U. One time my streak got broken…to a Kanji player that ended up being the WORST player out of the players that I streaked, by far. Kanji is a character that can random you out in an instance no matter how much you’ve been dominating the match beforehand and that’s exactly what happened. I don’t even blame online for this, there wasn’t lag. I got randomed out, plain and simple. He was rotating the stick, mashing the grab super in a situation that I had conditioned him multiple times in the previous rounds, to not do.
you are the same person that believes in the sbo/ japanesse system
http://forums.shoryuken.com/t/umvc3-stream-commentary-thread-v2/149313page-466
you even said it yourself that having that system in place of single game elimination is good on that page
that would allow people to be "randomed out more as you say
and ill say it again.
if you lose to it.
you arent as good as you think.
people give others too much respect sometimes
i think you should do it. if its deliberate.
stand by your convictions and do it.
DSP sure does make up a lot of silly excuses.
Does he know the difference between a mashed dp and reacting to a predictable jump in? I swear I heard him bitch about mash dp every time he executed a slow reckless jump in.
That’s just DSP’s character. He bitches about everything. It’s why he’s so popular amongst the xbl 14-year-old crowd. They feel like they can identify with him since they too have the same excuses and whininess.
So he’s trolling? I don’t watch his stuff.
Supposedly he acts like an asshole as part of his act, and that he’s not really like that in real life. Either way, call it being retarded or trolling, it’s still idiotic.
That does make sense, I read elsewhere that they hand off the matchmaking requests to the consoles, and get back a list of games - no insight or ability to change any of the results. Funny how the iOS version can have “better features” than the home console versions
Like the ‘Dojo’ (training/ challenge) mode on the original iOS SFIV - miles better than anything the console versions have come up with…
(The controls and online are bloody awful, though! :))
TNB posted a great Sirlin article. A scrub can be a person who childishly complains “you’re not letting me win”.
I remember there was some awful GameFAQs post where some guy talked about “Unwritten Arcade Etiquette”. For example, if you do a throw, then you should apologise and let the other player throw you or you will get beaten up outside an arcade.
Excuse my rude language, but FUCK THAT!!! Fuck your unwritten rules! They’re unwritten because you made them up on the spot to deny you’re bad at the game and need to start learning from your mistakes.
Wow…DPS is like the scrub that scrubs look up to be! It’s like he went college for that.
Yup, unwritten arcade rules in the 90s. No throws, otherwise you let the other person throw you back. In some places, crossups were considered cheap too, and weren’t allowed. I remember in some places, if you’re about to win, the other guy’s friend would just hold you down while the other kid let you do combos. Times were rough in the arcades man.
It’s pretty easy to say “fuck that” when you’re on a forum, and not in an arcade in a very unfriendly part of town where the likelihood of getting your ass kicked and/or stabbed was very high.
I have always defined scrub as someone who plays top tier and thinks there good
Yeah. I remember those times as well. Was harassed by a pickpocket at one time when I was like 10 years old and was also told to not come close to one teenager, because he was a violent junkie. I remember in Dublin there is still a large arcade place in the city centre where there’s also a security guard looking after the place if I remember correctly (There was a VF5 machie and a Tekken 6 machine with broken buttons). The places I used to go to in Tallinn only had some old ladies who exchanged cash for coins. Maybe it’s a good thing the arcades stopped being mainstream and they’re just restriced to small places for FG hobbyists.
It’s definitely not a good thing that arcades stopped being mainstream. Arcades rely on a LOT of foot traffic stopping by to play some games and can’t survive on hardcore arcade regs driving out to an arcade every weekend. I just think the arcade was treated as some sort of token novelty accessible by people from all walks of life, some of which came from the poorer, more violent, less educated parts of our countries, and so you get this sort of rough-house image associated with it.
It’s quite the opposite in Japan. Although their industry is also in decline, arcades are frequented by pretty tame and polite people, most of whom are salarymen who stop in to play some games after work, and not the usual teenagers or college students that go to arcades here in the States. Their arcade culture is entirely different in that part of the world. So it’s not the arcades that brought around the degenerates.
it seems like DSP’s catchphrase is “I can’t do anything”
