Thank you. Unfortunately, the seller of the TE already sold the stick yesterday.
I guess I am stucked with buying new, although I don’t recall having Madcatz sticks being sold locally though, only their mice/keyboards are being sold here. IIRC sticks mostly being sold here are Hori (V3/HRAPV3/HRAPV4/Fighting Edge/WRAP), Qanba (all models I think), and maybe custom sticks.
Thanks for the informative and quick reply! I’ve been looking for ones that for sure work on PC but can’t really find any thats similar price and quality to the Mad Catz sticks that I were looking at. Do you have any recommendations? Or is there a way to see if my motherboard is compatible with Mad Catz sticks before buying? I mean I can’t find anything about amd and nivida on my motherboard other than crossfire and SLI.
Since I will most likely get a new stick, I’m thinking of getting either Qanba Q4RAF or HRAPv3 since they have similar price here. Is it worth getting Q4RAF over HRAPv3? I really don’t care about the headphone jack problem for the Q4RAF at the first page since I use speakers when playing.
If you’re going to be playing on both consoles, get the Q4.
If you’re not bothered about dual compatibility then either will be fine - go for the one that feels best (or looks best, if you can’t get to use them first).
There is no way to be sure unless you contact someone that owns the stick that you are considering.
Madcatz has had sales throughout the year, for EVO, TGS and PAX. I think the next big tournament that they “may” have a sale for, would be Strongstyle.
I would recommend purchasing your fightstick from Amazon though, better customer service and free returns.
Has anyone had any experience with the HORI pro V4 hayabusa? Thinking about getting it as my first stick, gonna run it on PC, but my friends all have ps3s/are looking ot upgrade to a ps4, so I want to able to play with/let them play with the stick whenever I head over by them
Allright so , in the end I’ve decided that I want to buy a stick , but I would much like if it wasn’t too expensive , like the cheapest usable stick there is , and by usable I mean it wouldn’t be stiff , and wouldn’t break after the first few uses . I can shop on amazon.co.uk , amazon.de , amazon.fr and amazon.it , aka european websites , I don’t know how to use ebay so I don’t wanna risk getting a potato instead of a stick =).
Well , I would much appreciate if it were under 80 euros , but idk , I can pay more , I just don’t think it’s worth it at the level I’m playing at( scrub level , hado and shoryu spam ) .
If you plan on attending events in the future or have friends playing on an alternate console from what you own, you may want something that is already dual modded or at least easy to dual mod in the future. Of course, any stick is easy to dual mod if you get something such as the PS360+, but what console you have and use now is pretty relevant.
It will probably be above your budget, but any Madcatz or Hori stick with all Sanwa parts will not depreciate in value that much. A Qanba that is already dual modded would be nice as well even if the buttons are knock off Sanwas, as that’s still a decent start for a beginning player. Just make sure you do research on that particular stick and make sure it’s easily upgradable with Sanwa or Seimitsu for future endeavors.
I’m looking to purchase a new stick, with the main consideration being that the stick is moddable such that I can rewrire the select/back button into the front buttons. I wanted advice regarding how difficult this was to do, and perhaps which sticks are recommended for this kind of procedure, as I have zero experience modding stick?
I play on PC, I’m playing only online , nobody plays offline around my place. I asked for an exact product because Im a noob at all that’s fighting games and the tools associated with them.
Open stick. Unplug the two quick disconnects from Back/Select button. Unplug the two quick disconnects from whatever button you’d like to put Back/Select on. Insert QDCs on new button. Close Stick.
Reading a description of the stick on [insert retailer name here] to see if it has [insert brand of joystick/buttons here] is not difficult. What I said in the last reply is still relevant. Just don’t get a PS3 Madcatz Tournament Edition Round 1 or Round 2 or PS3 Madcatz SE as those PCBs have difficulty with the majority of PCs. This entire topic is dedicated to what stick/controller you should buy. Asking that question with 51 pages of conversation of the same thing is a waste of words and open to opinion of each individual user.
Yes , but watching the thread is pointless as my options are way limited because I live in the EU , so I have no access to amazon.com , also local shops don’t sell sticks or such . Trustworthy online shops in my country as well , they don’t sell them because they come very expensive and nobody buys them , so my only options left are the european amazon websites. My preferences do not come into play because I have never touched a stick , I have no idea what they should be like, I did not even want to buy one . Untill today I wanted to get a gamepad but I’ve thought that It may not be very appropriate for the genre, I’ve tried the ps4 one and I did not understand how people can do qc or hc motions on the dpad ,I probably couldn’t even do a fireball on it , I would gladly settle for one if it were more recommended for a beginner.
Take a flathead screwdriver and carefully pry the quick disconnect (QDC) off the small pins of the button. Do the same on the other button. Swap. Done.
