Which one should i pick up?
HORI PS3 Real Arcade Pro V3 SA KAI or HORI PlayStation 3 Real Arcade Pro. N3-SA
I’m gonna use it on Pc.I have PS3 Fighting Stick V3 by hori but some of the buttons are not working anymore. So I’ll buy one of them or would you recommend something else?
Hello , i need some feedback about that fightstick http://www.amazon.com/Qanba-Q1-PS3-Joystick-Fightstick/dp/B00BXPIO1S/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1396129420&sr=8-2&keywords=qanba+q1 its my second stick im a beginer in fighter games .
My personal preference Is the N3/NX because it has more palm space. That’s just me though. Both are good sticks.
Pretty much that. I own both, but I prefer the N3.
Hi looking to buy my first stick and I’m looking at either the fight stick pro or the SCV Arcade stick and in the UK the SCV is about £30/$50 more than the pro, the pro being £90 for 360. i was wondering if it is worth it for the square gate and it being easier to mod and the better spacing or is the pro the obvious deal to go with?
Thanks
SCV, I am assuming you meant the Mad Catz and not the Hori version of the stick.
If it is the Mad Catz stick, that is tencically a TE and they are very easy to mod.
Yeah the Madcatz SCV sorry.
Both sticks should have a square gate stock, unless I’m missing something. At that price, I’d go with the pro model. The noir button layout is they only thing I like better about the scV model, which isn’t worth an extra $50.
Oh, i think you are right i must of misread something.
thanks
I personally prefer the Tournament edition because it provides easier access to the innards so you can change the buttons/stick easier after time.
Personally, I’m more of a fan of the TE because of the palm rest being more of a flat surface. I had the pro for a while but it wasn’t as comfortable as I was hoping. There’s also a SOUL EDITION which has a somewhat different button layout but uses the TE’s housing.
Plus, you should go here. It helped me out initially: Mad Catz Sticks Street Fighter IV SE A basic 8 button arcade stick controller. Case: B- Not bad overall, the stick body is nice and sturdy. Parts: The Joystick and buttons are clones of Sanwa Parts so actual Sanwa parts are perfect drop in replacements. Earlier releases of the SFIV SE stick have reported issues with the PCB or Printed Circuit board. Reliability**:** Except for the above mentioned PCB this stick is not bad. Perfect for a low cost beginner stick. Ease of Mods: Difficulty 1. …

I’m a bit confused… so the Fighstick Pro doesn’t have the easy access panel? I’m not necessarily planning on modding, but I’d at least like to have the peace of mind of knowing that if it gets worn out I can replace the stick/buttons fairly easily instead of having to buy a new stick.
I thought I had read that the Fightstick Pro and the Tournament Edition ones are pretty much exactly the same except for cosmetics?
I’m trying not to spend anymore than around $100. Unless there are sources I’m unaware of I can’t get a new TE anywhere for that price (except for the Microsoft store sale I was too late for), but that’s how much the Fightstick Pro is now. So it’s a new Fightstick Pro vs. a used TE (or SOUL or V.S.). I’m thinking I would want a brand new stick over a stick that is an unknown amount of worn down.
I use the pro and I actually like it a lot, I used to use a hori vx, but the buttons were pretty bad, and the stick didn’t read down backs a lot. My friend uses the Q1 and and it’s a pretty good stick for 60$.
merging with the “what stick should I buy?” Thread
Please read the stickies before posting
I recently decided to give fighting sticks a try; I ordered two USED Hori EX2 sticks for a total of about $55 (one for me, one for the girlfriend). Even though they’re the cheapest sticks you can get and they are used, we really enjoy using them especially compared to using a standard controller.
Now I’m looking to upgrade. I think I’m going the MadCatz route this time, mainly for the fact that parts are easily replaceable (not trying to buy one once every two years), and the metal base.
Just two days ago I discovered the Microsoft store had the Major League Gaming Tournament Edition sticks for $75 including shipping… Checked it once every few hours, but it remained out of stock. Now they removed the sale and it’s listed back at it’s original $159.99. I’m SO mad that I didn’t see this sooner! I would’ve ordered two of them! (They’re still listed on this random website aiveor.com at $75 but the poor web design of the page worries me about how legit it may or may not be. Also, it says something about a connection error when I try to click “check out.” Anyone know if this is bogus or not?)
I’m sort of in between buying a new MadCatz Arcade Fightstick Pro (the red one) or trying to find a used Tournament Edition online. The Fighstick Pro is on sale for $100 right now, and that seems like a fair price for a solid stick.
I really don’t care what the background art looks like; Just as long as it’s sturdy and responsive. Do the tournament editions have any big advantages over the regular Fightstick Pro?
Are there any big tournaments coming up soon that will result in MadCatz putting up some crazy sales? (I’ve seen a lot of the past sales and I’m upset that I missed them – apparently I decided to get into fightsticks about two months too late lol)
Any help or input or links to a website where I can get a cheap stick would be appreciated. By the way I am looking for a stick for XBOX 360 and dual-modding isn’t a concern of mine at all. I would strongly prefer a square gate. I would prefer the ABXY buttons to go up in an arc instead of being a diamond, but that is not a deal breaker. Not too concerned about turbo, either, though it seems all MadCatz sticks feature this.
The pro is a great buy for $100.

Thanks!

Nope, you have to open the back panel to mod it. Not a big deal though, don’t worry about it.
As for Pro vs TE, when I tried a Pro it felt like a somewhat cost cut TE. It’s still a very solid stick but it’s lighter, hollower sounding, and the art’s just a sticker on a metal plate. There’s also less hand room on the bottom, so if you add a plexi to it it’s probably going to dig into your hands a bit.
$100 is def a good price though, but if you can find a TE in good shape for about the same I’d go for that.
If it sounds more hollow, does that mean there’s more space to work with inside? The te’s inner shell and all those posts are a bit annoying when doing mods.
