"What people msg you after you beat them" MvC3 edition

Wouldn’t say it was exactly “hate mail”

But a group of us that joined our room a cheap asshole. Mainly because all he did was infinites.

how are you guys even finding that many opponents for ranked matches? i spent like 2+ hours in training mode with fight req on the past 2 nights and played like 3 matches total in ranked… of those 3 both nights i had 1 guy rage quit…

I just go to find a custom match and set Region to same and Rank to any. I always find a match and it doesnt take very long. Maybe 5 or 6 seconds…10 at the most.

“Studder” isn’t a word either… it’s “stutter.”

The More You Know

Hypno33 is such a whiny bitch. God, I can’t tolerate him.

Dude called me a *** for running away
I told him to gb2 COD
He calls me a bitch and tells me to gb2 COD
I tell him I will when I take my dick outta his mom’s mouth

Fuck being nice to hatemail. If I even respond to it…

Okay, okay, nobody can argue with the “hey I use GUY” defense - j/k.

I suppose I don’t see it as whether it is skillful or not; if Ryu is in that situation, there’s really nothing else he can do, no matter who’s at the controls. I’m just trying to take the long view in MvC3’s metagame - in order for the match to have gotten to that point, one player had to fail to do something to set it up. It’s a more drawn out version of say, in SSFIV, if one technically has a lot of health left, but leaves themselves wide open for a max power ultra that does huge damage and they still eat it.

And I don’t see a problem with calling such a last ditch defense “laming it out”; folks are doing that but in the sense of being good natured about it.

Getting so many ragequitters lately. I am either getting better or I am just getting all the scrubs tonight.

Just had two in a row rq lol.

so i just chose random , and by chance 1 of my team members is sentinel. beat this guy online and messaged me something like stop spamming with sentinel you ****** …

but the funny thing was i barely used sentinel in the match. not even for assists. just used the guy for a few seconds to recover my other characters and i barely did anything… it was shehulk that carried my team to victory. guess the dude cant accept that i didnt even need sentinel to beat him…

i spent an hour last night trying this… and over that hour not a single time did it connect… just failed to join games left right and center… i’m cursed.

I have had 3 ragequits so far, and I’m terrible.

had a ragequitter earlier but my win still got counted. yes it seems the ragequitting got worse these past few days.

I go into arcade mode and set fight requests to on. I played for over 4 hours the other day without ever having to wait long enough for me to finish my first arcade match.

i have it work like that for player matches… but i can’t seem to get ranked matches to save my life

With the Ultras in SSF4, you can’t build up 5 of them, you only get 1. You can’t use x-factor to make the Ultra do 200% damage. You can’t just mash it out whenever you want (Ultra’s in SSF4 are generally the most unsafe moves in the game). So with Ultra, you have a comeback factor, but you can’t be an absolute retard about it. In MVC3 you can. That’s my issue.

I think Fatal By Nature mentioned that he was chipped out.

So how do you define “leaving yourself open” to that? By not 1) having a character with flight and 2) super-jumping + flying away in anticipation of Ryu’s nonstop XF3 hyper assault?

I tend to side with Fatal on this argument. Because “techically” you could maybe avoid all the chip Ryu’s gonna force on you, but the way you need to go about avoiding it is just ridiculous. I don’t want to have to super jump away for 30 seconds. I want to be able to handle that Ryu and beat him with my own skill, but the game won’t allow that.

I think the issue he has is with the following scenario:

Let’s say you completely dominate your opponent for almost the entire round. You land all kinds of long, damaging combos (that you spent hours practicing in training mode). You get multiple DHC’s, and maybe even pop X-factor to extend a combo and make sure you kill his first 2 characters quickly. Your opponent has failed to even hit you 1 time. The only damage he’s done so far is maybe some chip, or maybe he got a chunk of damage off you by just mashing out a hyper while you had an assist out.

Now he’s got his last character (Ryu) out, who consequently has lots of meter because of all the damage you just did to him (so most of his meter was created by you). He also has X-factor level 3 because he never even had a chance to use it earlier, and he was saving it because he knew he’d never land a combo anyway (again, something that was a result of you playing well).

So now he has all these rewards given to him because he played like shit the whole round. Suddenly the game changes completely. You can no longer beat him by just outplaying him offensively, because you know he’s gonna use ALL of his meter on XF3 Shinku Hadokens immediately. So now you have to anticipate that and super jump away (assuming you don’t have a teleport character). Ryu’s XF3 hyper does so much chip that it’s too risky to even block it. And most often, when this scenario is happening, the clock is winding down, so your safest strategy is to run from him until you get a timeout victory.

How is that fun for either person?

There are just too many things in MVC3 designed to keep the weaker player alive.

highlulu, did u check your NAT to make sure they’re open, or you have a specialize port for your Xbox? because sometimes your router’s firewall might block the incoming data stream (you probably have set up to stop that, but it never hurts to check it out). Also, what internet company u use, SBC or Comcast? I heard (its just a rumor) sometimes if your data relay hub is far away from where you live, it might lag a little bit harder to connect.

But I blame the new patch for all the BS that has happen so far…

“You can only win with those (N-Word) tactics” after a legit Arthur win.

i hadn’t even thought about that… i recently moved and so naturally i’m no longer behind a router that has my xbox in the DMZ (basically allows all traffic). and it is comcast providing the internet.

I would have died laughing from a win like that. xD

A guy who spams super combos with Akuma sent me this gem after I beat him.

“You are a disgrace to everyone on XBL with cheap ass Sentinel. You are being stripped of your rank and being reported to Microsoft for being a bitch. Get off the internet and go fuck some sheep!!”
