What other than street fighter is good?

I enjoy Mahvel, Vampire Savior, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, KOF 98 (2002 as well but I like 98 more… I plan on getting the UM editions of both), KOF XI, and I hope to play TVC again. Rival Schools/PJ has that fun/mess around and nostalgia factor.

On the 3D side of things, I suppose Tekken (3/tag, 5/dr, and 6/br) are worth a try. I’ve tired of them as of late though. The Naruto PS2/PS3/GC games are fun when friends are around. Same with the Smash Brothers series.

Marvel or Tekken. Is okay to start off with. Garou/Mark of the Wolves is damn awesome.

Akatsuki Blitzkampf is also very good.

Is there any way to play MVC2 online?

Hell yeah Guilty Gear.

how about the fact that everyone in the game plays the same way

REAL BOUT 2, goddamn.

seconding '98 and NGBC

The ONLY reason I didn’t like KOFXI was because Ralf’s Vulcan Punch was ridiculously hard to perform. Other then that, it’s pretty good (Duck King wins the roster.)

Twinkle Star Sprites. It’s not a fighting game, but it’s better than 95% of the shit SNK puts out.

The Rumble Fish, Bloody Roar 2, Rage of the Dragons, Savage Reign/Kizuna Encounter, World Heroes Perfect, Waku Waku 7, Power Instinct (Legends/Matrimelee/Groove on Fight), and Psychic Force EX/2/2012.

You go play all that shit and get at me later.

KOFXI is a great beginning KOF since its much easier to link combos in that game than any other. once from that though, defiantely move on to the UM series afterwards, and I don’t care if this starts a shitstorm but KOFXI had a better tag system than Marvel, just my opinion.

Aside of GGPO you there is also 2dfighter.com which delivers more fighting games than GGPO.
And particularly I recommend Samurai Shodown series (Im diehard fan of SS, could say the same for MK but Im sick with Midway releasing their games mid-way complete and untested). Well I know all SS storyline and all MK storyline, anyway, and there are some good character parallels, I suppose its only fair considering huge rosters both franchises gained over the years, and overall mythological directions of storylines

The only problem with getting into most of these other games is that they’re much more offense-oriented. So if you’re used to turtling too much, you might have a hard time with some of these like GG and KOF.

Just a heads up.

Also, make sure to check out Melty Blood Act Cadenza. There is a PC version, which is the best one, anyways.

There are a “lot” of other good games around do you want games that play similar to ST or something? 2d/3d? Ones with decent sized competitive scenes? Just take a look around this site and see what interests you.

I would suggest this, too. Along with some others like Guilty Gear, but just take a look around and decide for yourself what you want to play.

I forgot to mention Virtua Fighter 5. Everyone should play that because it’s the best game ever.

I’d like something that is functionally different from SF and MK, 2D/3D doesn’t matter.

If you want different, you cant go wrong with Virtua Fighter. It will feel much slower for a while, but its great fun. Get your hands on Soul Calibur 2 if you can. I haven’t played SCIV much, but its pretty good too.

Dead or Alive 4 is also really good. If you can find the original Xbox version of MvC2, then that’ll probably keep you busy for a good few years.

Not 100% on this, but I believe the xbox version sucks balls if played on the 360.

Well that sucks. It had enough problems on the original Xbox as far as I know.

OK new idea. Just pick up an old Dreamcast and download the MvC2 ISO and burn it. That game isn’t for everyone but chances are you’ll probably love it.
