If its the hardest your talking then ken is one of the hardest fighters walking.
Ken has a better rushdown game, and personally, thats what i look for in a character.
Because Ryu is boring to play, simple as that. And I don’t think FADC Ultra with Ken is any harder.
Actually Ken is more popular than Ryu. Remember in when the game came out how almost every match was agaisn’t Ken? people started using Ryu because he was better. It’s not that they like Ryu more they just like winning.

I play Ken ‘cause he’s fire burin’ on the dance floor.
But its really because I stuck with him for so long in 3s I thought I may as well use him in IV. He’s got that abuseable step kick. A couple decent ultra setups, nothing spectacular really. Just preference. Makes winning more satisfying as well.
Is ken’s EX-Dragonpunch better than Ryu’s? I’m not so sure about that. Everytime I have a faceoff with a ryu his ex-srk always wins. And everytime I am truly disgusted.
I play Ken because i have for almost what… 9 if not 10 years and i just love him, stylish moves, stylish look, stylish game play just everything… come on PLUS people under rate him and ALWAYS put him under Ryu as if to say Ken CANNOT beat him _ so its also to prove a point that Ken can hang with the “Big Bois”
(though he is one but as i said people put him down)
I prefer Ken because hes a bit more in your face. I love his mixup game and personally if I hit his ultra combo (which being kinda new isnt to often) I like the flashiness of it. His combo’s into ultra require ya to get a bit fancy compared to a lot of ryu’s out there who just pop ya up with a light srk into it. So yeah, in a word. Pride
I think he meant overall and not one against the other. Ryu’s EX SRK will always beat Ken’s EX SRK because it has more invincibility. But overall I’d say Ken has the better EX SRK. It has plenty of invincibilty and does so much damage. Despite being low tier, Ken was probably the king of punishment in vanilla. Nobody else can do that kind of damage with 1 or no bars so easily as Ken can without a jump in. Ryu can actually do more damage without a jump in, but you better have really good execution to pull off those 1 frame links.
Between the two Ryu is my main and my favorite character but I actually find Ken more fun to play. His faster SRK recover allows me to stay on top of my opponents and the step kick does a good job of helping you close the distance on your opponents. But Ryu is a lot of fun if you’re execution is really good. The dude has so many ways to combo his normals and specials that you want to do something new whenver you get the chance, that’s how I feel anyways.

Who would you rather have a beer with? A serious, introverted, withdrawn, over-achiever who can’t even set his dragon punches on fire…or Ken? Besides if tier ranking was all that mattered there would be no reason to have selectable characters to begin with. People would just play as the strongest character.
i’ve been using ken since og street fighter 2. what intrigued me the most was cpu ken’s “berzrerkers rage” where he went off on a shoryuken tirade. It’s everything from his arcing Shoryuken to his cocky attitude. Ken > Ryu. In og sf iv everyone picked ryu because of the various ways to combo into ultra. in Super… Ken > Ryu.

Theres this myth where a few select people play the character they have the most fun with and like more…crazy isn’t it!!! I wanna jus play ryu all day cuz i wanna haz big moneys!!!
I like Ken as a character for his advantages and his disadvantages.

I agree with Ken not having a better rush down than Ryu. Ryu’s walk speed and dash make it much easier to get in and stay in. Ken feels like hes lugging a suitcase around when he walks.
Also I think Ryu’s tatsu’s recover faster and dont forget his fireball is faster.
So overall Ryu can actually pressure a lot better because of his speed from the recovery from his attacks with the exception of a few moves such as a dp, but dp are not that much of a pressure tool.
btw ken is fun to play, just more reckless overall.
Red is nice. But there is better then beating down chumps in a pink cowboy outfit
