What makes an anime game "anime"

I understood what you meant the 1st time you said it. I just think people are butthurt cuz you called GG and BB “cookie cutters”, at least the visual design. The only games you’re allowed to diss in anyway are SFs, Marvel, SFxT and oddly enough, Skull Girls. You are allowed to get very personal with Skull Girls.

I says this as a man who loves BB, GG, AH1, and VP. And I HATE SFIV, MVC3, and SFxT with a passion. I hate those games so much that I bust nuts at the thought of breaking the discs.

Shame really, since my original point was that SF and BB, both look like anime games. Just that the art directions used by one video game is generally, associated with the modern age of anime. Meanwhile, Street Fighter takes ques from Jo Jo, DB, FoNS, Rikki-Oh. Old anime.

But of course this is not always the case. You look at the visual direction of the Simpsons and then look at the style of something like Young Justice. The adult cartoon looks like a kid show and vise versa. I didn’t know people were so sensitive.

Honestly, if we go by cookie cutter anime looks you can’t get more anime than the entire Alpha/Darkstalkers series. If the game is fun to play, who cares how it looks?

It’s funny because I always read Japanese people saying that Darkstalkers looks like an American comic or cartoon.

From just a gameplay stand point, I always got an Animaniacs/Looney Toons sort of vibe
