Top tiers are based on their statistics. The way they perform in match ups.
IM is considered by some to be top tier (i consider him top) but to some he isnāt because of the way he performs on point. Heās slow, he has a hard time dealing with AAAās such as commando and cyke. But phat toi showed that he can perform just as deadly as the guys who are unarguable in the top (cyclops). The reason why i say heās top is because his only performance to me is coming in through a dhc then GBing the next 2 fuckers down.
So, i think, characters become top tier based on there statistics. They have some things that highly over shadow allot of the cast and these certain tools pick up such high and near-consistant momentum.
IMO, in any game, the player makes the character.
even if the character has a hard time in the match, there is a way around everything.
nothing is impossible, however certian things are just not probibal at the moment.
just because you have a god tier doesnt mean you automaticly win. Players have used low tier teams against god tiers and have won. I would get examples but im tired as hellā¦
marrow imo is pretty fuckin ridiculous
her ground dash c.fk+assist game is retarded because of her overall speed, one dash and then iām free to tip somone with a sweep+tron,boneXXbonesuper lol
only reason thats even useful is because assists canāt roll that well, so you take the good with the bad and just go nuts with her ground rushdown punishing the shit out of assists while you use ghetto rang lockdown or some tigerknee rang zoning then run around building bar so i can super some more.
i like doing ground chain into sweep, then otg with c.lk,s.mp then either re-rushing or dashing out of range into super.
I play alot of different characters for fun in marvel, but having a super like hers AND the kind of speed she has to build the bar and rushā¦ puts her waaaaay up in the overall scheme of fighting in this game.
ironman is dope too, only true one hit killer in the game, even though he depends on unfly to do it, nobody else has as many guarantee death from touch set-ups.
All kinds of characters are good, itās how players utilize what they do best that sets the characters apart.
sent mag ect from the god tier have more things they can do faster better stronger(Kraftwerk lol) But that doesnāt mean the little bums from the mid tier canāt go ape shit and beastā¦

Edit: iāve been playing ironman and trying to do his instant overhead into combo alot recently, once in a while iāll pull it off completely.

pretty damm fast since he hits on his way up and then follows up for death.

I think Anakaris would be top or even God if he didnāt have such crap vitality. He gives mad damage when you mash his super right, with loads of tools that handle various situations: Coffins, long ranged unblockables, ect.
He does do well against the gods & tops if he doesnāt get hit.
