you miss the point i was making. in that video, john choi gets perfected by a scrub. ricky ortiz and champ can barely win matches. does that not tell you anything? lol.
My Guile is only at 4.8k BP, close to that B ranking
PP: only 1.6k (I keep going from 1.7k down to 1.5k then back up again. The PP system makes no sense to me)
i miss the whole point lol odee …
around 4300-4500pp and at 15,500bp
again this stuff doesn’t matter, I remember gilley saying that online is like a whole other game, sucks but it is all I have here where I am
When you get to this range, you have to beat most people 8 or 9 times for every time they beat you to even it out
I agree, once you reach 15k it is really hard to move beyond. like cities pointed out is like a 1:10 ratio. Also i have gone down from 15,500 BP and 4200 PP in a matter of 2 days. From having 15+ win streaks I was doomed to like 6+ lose streaks, why? here is the thing. I have a 100 kbps download and a 10 kbps upload. YES shitty as fuck. Well after I lost so much I went to test my connection and the download seemed the same but the upload was a constant 7kbps. This change in upload speed fucked up my reactions and I wasnt hitting lk flash kicks when I knew it was a clean hit, instead I was eating the entire jump in combo for 30%+ damage. Not to add the constant cross up-tech crap that we all guiles suffer from and getting constantly grabed due to poor tech reactions. Yes I was hitting the stuff on time on my screen to defend good, but the latency was just bad. So I came to this conclusion. I will have fun online and dont care to rank up anymore, the game gets to such a point where only the best connections will allow you to move up. I have reached my limit, with this shitty connection there is not much more learining for me to experience. At 4000PP you now have to be really good against frametraps and late teching etc, defending against this Online is random crap.
I’m at a wall at near around 12k/13k. It’s still constantly difficult to keep up the wins in order to move on like you guys were saying. When you lose, you usually lose hard. If I dedicate myself to just Guile again, I probably could push through it but I’m just bummed to tell the truth.
Wow, where are you playing that you don’t have worry about people talking shit? Because I get that constantly in either Endless or Ranked. I get it almost automatically in Ranked which is why I stop playing.
As fire.tisane was saying, I agree that pps and bps are inflated. Some player may be using Turbo to boost their chances. Who knows. I’ve seen some weird stuff. For example, how someone’s PP is so high after playing like 10 matches or something (can see this info when you watch replay videos). It can be cheating…I’m not sure. I remember this one dude who had 2 XBOX live accounts who faced himself multiple times in ranked matches to inflate his PP and BP.
I’ve beaten players who are A ranked and have over 4000pp. PPs and BPs are fraudulent. I only have 2169pp/5147bp and I can be competitive with people who have much higher stats than me.
If I ever switch Guile to DeeJay on AE, I’m done with Street Fighter for Life because I would be ashamed to every come back to play it. I refuse to let the nerfs on Guile stop me from playing him. I know it’s hard, but I have been playing Guile a lot in Super as if I was playing in AE. This means a lot of normals and zoning. Doing a lot of combos is not in Guile’s favor.
My Guile is just broke 1K. I started again with him recently after not using him much since plain SF4 and HDR, but I’m doing really well with him. He might be my new best character.
On an exciting note, I just hit 30kbp in the japanese arcades. So, now I’m AAA rank! What made it even sweeter was that I was at an arcade in Yokohama where the only people there were two Akuma’s and a Yang player. It seemed like my training with Tokido really paid off, since I was mopping the floor with one of them, and going 50/50 with the other. I know that if I played them 3 months ago, I would have been losing like crazy.
Side-note: f.mk is good stuff in this fight.
Rolling sobat is good? Interesting. Btw, I saw your battle with Tokido on Option-select.com. It was some good stuff…but the video I watched was you getting killed by him lol. It can’t be helped since Akuma is one of the hardest matchups for Guile.
I actually did pretty alright against him in that tournament. Considering an essentially random Guile player against #1 akuma player in a bad matchup. I’m saying that playing against him helped my akuma matchup knowledge tons. There’s stuff that I know now that it feels like only Tokido himself has countered. I posted some of our casuals up on my youtube page a few months back. Good info on there.
But for example, at 3:27 in the first match of that tournament final, I’m cornered and knocked down, he goes for a crossup, I FA dash out, he walks forward and does s.hp xx lk tatsu. That’s really one of the few counters to that escape, but since he taught me the escape in the first place, he was pretty wise to it. Works on all the other akumas though.
Woops, teh derailz.
I think a lot of players don’t know this but c.lk from quite a lot of characters)including Guile, can hit Akuma if he does a crossup tatsu. It’s pretty hard to do this if the Akuma’s jump and tatsu timing is perfect but I believe it can still be done. I could be wrong but it seems that c.lk works well hit him if he tries to use demon palm. You have to time it so that it hits about the same time as his palm were to hit you. But you need balls of steel to press c.lk while he’s flipping over.
Nj hp when spaced right, will trade with Akuma’s air EX FB, and you can do it on reaction. Also, on knockdown, if Akuma flips and divekicks at the highest arc, Guile can forward dash and punish divekick recovery with df.hk/s.hp behind Akuma. But this is also dependent on Akuma’s flip timing and when he presses divekick. If he see he presses early, don’t dash or you’ll eat a full combo.
