What is the WORST AI in a fighting game?

I remember playing Rise of the Robots for 3DO, it was fucking horrific.

You can get perfects in MvC2 by pressing two buttons. HP with Cyclops and assist 1.

The A.I. in Soul Calibur 3 was retarded good at everything…but blocking one of your characters moves. It would ALWAYS get hit by whatever move it was no matter what. If you could find that move, you’re pretty much set.

Yeah, I remember Soul Calibur having some pretty special moments. I can’t remember if it was in 2 or 3, but I’ve seen the A.I. willingly roll right off the stage for a Ring Out on lower difficulties.

i got another game that its AI, had no intelligence whatsoever.

ELEMENTAR GERAD ps2.

Very Hard difficulty setting wasn’t any different from Very Easy setting.
the AI controlled opponent just stands there, never blocks, and never attacks.
It just stands there, totally brain dead.
A total vegetable.

impossible to enjoy as a 1p.
1p vs 2p, is good though.

Edit: a developer of fighters once wrote that the hardest thing in making a fighting game is the AI.
you’ll either end up with a psychotic genius that has the power of clairvoyance…or a totally retarded vegetable.

It wasn’t improved in SC4 either, you can go through the entire quest mode (whatever it’s called in that game I forgot) spamming Astaroth’s sweep + smash.

And as for SF4… I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one that tried to Lariat his way through arcade mode on Hardest… It worked btw.

So did constantly poking people with Kilik’s staff, although I dunno if I tried that on Hardest.

Probably not. AI guard impacts just about everything on hardest difficulty. On the flipside, they tend to attack immediately after that, so it turns into a GI battle.

all of them have bad AI’s. this thread is really stupid.

Yup.

why do you have to be soooo snarky n sarcastic all the time TR?

and here i thought master chibi had issues.
smoke some grass n chill bro.

but i do like n respect some of your posts though
especially this last “one word reply infraction demanding” one.

In Street Fighter Alpha 3 you can beat Honda and Birdie most of the time, just by backing up and throwing fireballs from across the screen.

I’m pretty sure CvS2’s AI will never ever block a slow fireball on wakeup.

TvC’s is pretty bad too. The hardest setting is still pretty silly (they basically just do longer/better combos). Just a drop a combo and do a low kick and get the reset; repeat infinitely. The final boss is easy on the hardest mode too. 1st form just have a projectile player spam projectiles and block backlow when the boss hammers. Jump and avoid the bar drains, also block chainsaw attack. 2nd form just stay right next to the boss and do short jab combos, then block; repeat infinitely. Make sure to avoid the grab super. 3rd form just do short jab combos, use projectiles and avoid supers. Also, none of the forms block at all so use chars with cross screen supers (i.e. Ryu, Zero, Tekkaman, etc.).

I thought that the AI in Tekken 2 was pretty bad, great game tho.

Tekken 5 AI…
