What is the tightest Seimitsu stick that will fit in a Madcatz SE?

I bought an LS-32-01 for my Madcatz SE stick. I do like the increased tightness over the Sanwa in my HRAP EX, but I’ve heard that the LS-56 sticks are tighter. Will that fit in an SE? Or are there any other sticks that are tighter that will fit as well?

I believe if you replace the LS-56 default mounting plate with a more standard one (like the LS-32s) it’ll fit, but I’m not 100% sure.

You want a LS-56 with the MS mounting plate from Aki. The stock mounting plate won’t fit. It’s what I put in my SE. It’s the stiffest Japanese stick and you can mod the spring if you want it even stiffer.

MS plate?? is that the ls-32 “S” plate?

Nope definitely not the S plate.

Take a look at this picture. The top left plate is what ships with the LS-56. The bottom right is the MS plate which is what you want.

thnx kyle…
now just gotta wait till aki opens up so i can order me 1 of those plate for my TE.

hey… is that plate the LS-33/LS-55 Plate? according to slagcoin that would fit and allow you to top mount it similar to a LS-32… since the stock LS-56 plate is essentially bottom mount only since it’s roughly the same dimensions as the stick base itself…

So does this mean you mounted it in the SE without modding the mounting bracket? I’d be very interested in pics if you have them. :lovin:

No, he used a mounting plate, just a different kind. The LS-56 ships with a small mounting plate. The MS plate is more like the JLF’s and therefore fits in the SE well.

Yeah, I’m not brave enough to mod the mounting bracket. Look at what a JLF looks like installed because it’s similar. If you really want pictures I’ll see what I can do.

For some reason, my browser won’t let me multiquote. Stupid Internet Exploder.

@ Kyle: Ah, I think I see what you mean. So the LS-56 is mounted with the same orientation as the JLF on the SE’s mounting bracket? Also, sorry for hijacking the thread lol. :looney:

@Upas: Sorry, I was referring to the mounting bracket on the SE (welded to the inside of the case) rather than the LS-56’s mounting plate. I guess my post wasn’t quite clear about that.

Yeah, it’s exactly what Upas said. The MS plate allows the LS-56 to mount just like a JLF would. It’s nice because it makes it more versatile than even then LS-32.

Ok, great! Thanks. For some reason, I thought that the MS plate wouldn’t go where a JLF plate would go. Do you get the arcade-correct mounting height as well? I was thinking about buying an LS-32 for my SE, but now I’m considering getting both to see which I prefer. :stuck_out_tongue:
