What is the meaning of the 4 symbols

I find nothing wrong with these 2 questions.
Why wouldnt someone want to immerse themselves as deeply as possible into their main?
Considering the average dedicated SF fan spends as much time with their main as they do with the GF, it makes sense to know EVERYTHING about your character.
Sure tapping your GF’s sweet ass might be what really matters in the relationship but at some point you might like to know what the hell is she saying when she reaches orgasm and “WHO THE FUCK IS THIS DERRICK JERK THAT HAS HIS NAME ON YOUR BACK,” ya know?

I must have lost it somewhere in the many posts, but what is is that Akuma says to Ryu when he finishes with an ultra? (In Japanese as the English voice over is just so god awful)

And btw, Celestrian is a badass. Many informative posts.

i thought it meant that he was above humans since thats how the sky/heaven character is written. its the character for person, with a line above it, which means above people which the sky is, but with him using it, i thought it meant that he was above humans/people which made sense to me when i thought about it.

37 deaths per hit.

akuma’s symbol looks a lot more like ? (negative, chinese) than ? (sky, japanese). if you consider that gouken’s symbol is ? (negative, chinese); akuma’s has the same meaning and is basically the same kanji as gouken’s but simplified.

one could think of reasons why gouken and akuma have the same symbol, but carry it in a different style.

as one can see, the right “leg” of the symbol always has a different “attitude” than the left one, therefore they never seem symmetric, and thus i would rule out ?.

fyi: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/?

has this been overlooked? cause everywhere i read upon this it is stated that akuma’s symbol is ?, when obviously it is not.

ok so i just asked my dad wat those characters mean. from right to left, top to bottom, it says “one moment, thousand something” he couldnt really tell wat the last character meant in this context but he said it loosely translates to hand attack. so my best guess is that the characters read exactly wat he says, “one instant, thousand strikes.”

most asians (minus pacific islanders) used chinese characters at some point in their history, and even though each country pronounces it differently, the meaning of the characters are always the same. but i agree, there isnt a generic asian language. i just brought it up cuz the guy was just trying to let us know wat happened and u had to put him down wit ur sarcasm.

I thought it was 1 second 1000 strikes. Goes something similar to "die 1000 deaths"
but yeah akuma’s just “toning down his power” (which is why he’s got lower HP) or so the mantra goes and just to be nice hits 1000/27 = 37x power reduction.

Theoretical HP = HP x Reduced Rate = 850 x 37 = 31,481HP.

^actually its more since instead of 1 sec it’s 3 so multiply that number by 3 and his true HP should be 94,443.

Cool story bro.

I thought the symbol on the shirt was “ten” meaning “heaven” although slightly messed up…a perversion of heaven…AKA hell or demon. Sorta like an upside down cross or something.

But hey, I’m from Atlanta…what do I know.

It makes sense as ‘Heaven’ when you consider that he says “The other realm awaits” during his second ultra in SSF4 and the kanji appears in the sky.

I know you’ve just discovered 4chan, and I’m really happy for you. But that shit is only funny if you don’t post it in every fucking thread.
